Proposal for Sponsoring Code Africa Conference
General Overview:
Code Africa Conference is a pivotal event for software developers, founders, and product designers across Africa. It serves as a nexus for innovation and collaboration, providing a platform for discussing technical subjects, networking, and redefining the possibilities of the evolving web3 landscape in Africa and globally. The conference transcends traditional models by offering a technical deep dive, facilitating discussions among ambitious developers, visionary founders, investors, and accelerators.

Goal:
The goal of sponsoring the Code Africa Conference is to support and promote the growth of the blockchain and Web3 ecosystem in Africa. By sponsoring this event, we aim to foster innovation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among developers, founders, investors, and other stakeholders in the tech industry. In addition to onboarding leading talent into our community and the ecosystem at large.
Objective:
- Increase visibility and awareness of NDC, Near, and She is Near within the African tech community, specially promoting the inclusion of women into the Web3 ecosystem
- Support and empower African developers and founders in their journey towards blockchain, Web3, AI, IoT, and other emerging technologies
- Establish partnerships and network with key stakeholders, including developers, investors, policymakers, and industry experts
- Showcase Near Protocol’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and innovation in the tech sector
*Attract talent and projects into the Near ecosystem
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):
- Currently 5000 attendees are registered for the event, they are potential interactions with Near Protocol and She is Near materials or representatives.
- Exposure and onboarding 100+ new members into our DAO, plus 50 new wallets created during the event
- Track the number of attendees who create NEAR wallets and their retention over time.
- 3 new educational (1) and media (2) partnerships established during the conference for She is Near.
- Social media reach and engagement related to Near Protocol and She is Near sponsorships.

Hackathon Bounty for She is Near track: $1,000
As part of our sponsorship for the Code Africa Conference, we are allocating a portion of our budget to sponsor bounties within the hackathon with a particular focus on empowering women founders. We have a total sponsorship budget of $1000, which will be split into two bounties of $500 each. One bounty will be dedicated to technical projects related to NEAR Protocol, while the other bounty will cater to non-developers, providing an opportunity for individuals with diverse skill sets to participate.
Technical Bounty for NEAR Projects:
- This bounty is open to developers and technical enthusiasts who wish to build projects utilizing NEAR Protocol.
- Projects should focus on addressing real-world challenges, driving adoption, or enhancing the functionality of NEAR’s ecosystem.
- Women founders and developers are strongly encouraged to participate, and special consideration will be given to projects led by or involving women in key roles.
Non-Technical Bounty for Women Founders:
- This bounty is designed for women who may not have a technical background but are passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Participants may propose business ideas, marketing strategies, user experience designs, or other non-technical concepts that contribute to the growth of NEAR’s ecosystem.
- Women founders with innovative ideas or projects in the blockchain, Web3, or related fields are encouraged to participate.
Benefits Beyond the Hackathon:
Selected projects from both bounties will have the opportunity to receive funding, mentorship, and support from She is Near to continue their development beyond the hackathon.
