(Proposal to HoM, approved, paid) She is Near DAO Funding Budget for April 2024

OVERVIEW OF APRIL PROPOSAL
We have spent the past quarter focusing on community education programs for Women within and outside of our DAO, and we are very proud of this work. Setting the bar for knowledge and technical understanding is critical to our mission as a grassroots DAO. While our current academic courses are in progress, we will execute the next crucial phase of the DAO as a grassroots funder.

For the next two quarters, we want to focus our DAO’s efforts on projects and as a cohesive team on driving cross-platform collaboration projects, onboarding women across chains and communities, funding substantial projects and initiatives, and ensuring we bring founders onto NEAR in the next two quarters.

We have made a careful selection of projects to fund. Last month, we had 2, and we are gaining traction this month with 4 (a total of 6 are being run from the DAO). We have a cross-platform campaign, legal activities, and marketing for the DAO.

SECTION 3 LEGAL ENTITY CREATION:

We have identified the MML Legal Group in Zurich and Stéphanie Stéphanie Fuchs 富彩蝶 . . MML has established the Pyth Data Association, the Casper Association, the ECO Association, the ZRO Association, and many more associations/DAOs in Switzerland.
(Stephanie is an expert in Crypto Tax Specialist Senior Tax Associate, LL.M. (UZH) International Tax Law )

After reviewing three options: Guernsey Trust, Camain Islands, and a more straightforward wrapper from Switzerland, We believe the following is best for this DAO:

  • A simple structure in Switzerland provides us the legal cover we need, address, and ability to have a local bank in Zurich
  • A dedicated team of two lawyers who can support us per need at a discounted rate
  • A simple association legal wrapperwill be quickly created and executed, but a Trust demands more operational support, and we believe Switzerland is best for us over the Cayman Islands.

MML fees to establish an association and register the association in the commercial register cost 3,500 (excl. VAT). The 3500 CHF equals USD 3895.83.

We are asking for a budget that matches their Swiss Franc (CHF) cost, with a buffer for legal time: TOTAL $4,000 USD

2• DAO SMM MANAGEMENT TEAM : $1,000

Section 3 total: $5,000

SECTION 4
Council renumeration based on workload :

Blessed: $2,500
Krik: $2,000
Sarah: 2,000
Debbie: $1,000
Advisor: $0.00

Section 4 Total: $7,500

TOTAL COST : $33,060

Hi Blessed.

A few questions.

Why exactly does She is NEAR need a legal entity? Apologies if I sound ignorant but I feel it’s unnecessary.

Also, why is SMM expenses separate from council remuneration? Iirc this is being performed by @Dabbie3229 right? If a council member is performing this duty it should not be a separate line item imo.

Btw @Dabbie3229, I’m still awaiting your insights on a previous topic. (report)she is near dao february progress report - #7 by fiatisabubble

Hi Mr. Potato.

It’s always great to see your continued interest in our activities!

We’re in need of a legal entity for our partnerships outside of Near. In the past, we encountered issues with signing partnership contracts, as seen in the case of SheFI. This presented a significant obstacle, but thankfully Ida came up with a temporary solution that we hope will help and we did approach Congress for assistance and was advised by members of the House of Merit to establish our own legal entity to avoid future obstacles. Considering the direction the DAO is heading from April onwards, it’s crucial that we secure legal coverage.

Regarding social media management, Dabbie doesn’t really execute that but supervise the efforts. It’s handled by @Jane and @Avantika, similar to other Grassroots DAOs. We are hyper active in 4 social media platforms, you will agree that it requires input.

Once again, thank you for staying updated in our affairs. “I love seeing men supporting women”.

Ohk. Aside from the set up costs; I think it’ll also be a significant operational overheard going forward.

If it’s not done by Dabbie, why haven’t the people who run it submit a proposal and share metrics in a report? Does the council approve their work without reviewing how this role was performed?

SMM team report seems reasonable :ok_hand:t5:

Also, for the intro book, any chance it can get looked over by a near dev? Some of the points seem slightly immaculate or maybe need links for clarification?.

Oh sure!! We will do that. Thank you for pointing that out.
