(Proposal) B<>rder/ess <> She is Near Education Funding Proposal for April 2024

ABOUT B<>RDER/ESS
B<>rder/ess is the Tech Not-For-Profit arm of Crypto Smart, aimed at raising 100 web3 developers and web2 tech-skilled young people from the University communities annually for free, to build Web2 and Web3 products.

We do this by establishing physical hubs, hosting events, providing training, offering mentorship, establishing Campus Tech Clubs and launching tech projects.

:office:
Physical hubs:

B<>rder/ess will have physical hubs in several African countries that provide a space for developers to learn, collaborate, and network.

The first was opened in November 2022 in Port-Harcourt Nigeria and the next will be opened at the University Of Port-Harcourt Nigeria.

Events:

B<>rder/ess hosts a variety of events, such as hackathons, meetups, campus tours and conferences.

University web3 Tech Clubs:

We set up tech clubs in various universities to foster peer inspiration towards learning and practicing tech skills.

These events provide developers with opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people, and share their work, the last event was held in November 2022, and the next in November 2023 in Port-Harcourt Nigeria and had an attendance of 2,400 devs and potential devs cumulatively.

These programs cover a wide range of topics, including:

  1. Web design & development

  2. Blockchain development with TealScript

  3. Data science

  4. Cyber Security

  5. UI/UX design

  6. Solidity and a lot of others.

Mentorship:

B<>rder/ess pairs developers with experienced mentors. These mentors provide guidance and support to help developers reach their full potential.

B<>rder/ess <> She Is NEAR

B<>rder/ess will partner with She Is NEAR to provide education and inspiration resources aimed at producing young people every quarter who are competent in building solutions on NEAR, and we’ve created a strategy to make this possible in 4 Phases;

Goal 1: B<>rder/ess Web3 Tech Clubs and Integrations (Community & User Education Strategy on interacting with NEAR ecosystem)

Goal 2: NEAR Themed Developer Programme and Dev Bootcamp (Education)

Goal 3: NEAR Themed Hackathons and Event (Deployment)

Goal 4: Certification and Business Dev Mentorship (Go to Market strategies)

This strategy gives NEAR;

  1. Builders
  2. Users
  3. Products
  4. Marketing
  5. Updates and contributions to NEAR deployment documentation and Repos.

Borderless Physical Hub

A developer’s hub to produce at least 20 young women every quarter skilled in writing Smart Contracts on NEAR with Rust & JavaScript.

They’d gain knowledge of NEAR, and Interface designs, and gain experience in building with NEAR SDKs.

Every quarter, Borderless Africa Event A Dev/Finance Event

Our events will showcase usable products built on NEAR, attract users, award devs, and increase transactions, including ticket payments, NFT claims, on-chain gaming and more.

B<>rder/ess Web3 Tech CLubs

B<>rder/ess has Tech Clubs in 6 Universities in Nigeria, we could run the same activity we’re running in Port-Harcourt in those universities, using the same budget.

If you’d like to start with both the Port-Harcourt location and another city/state, we can run the same strategy below through our tech clubs in that State.
