Overview
The DiscoverBOS Bootcamp is an 8-week hybrid bootcamp designed to onboard 100 female Web2 developers to Web3, and teach them the fundamentals of blockchain development and how they can build Web3 projects using NEAR’s Blockchain Operating System (BOS). Participants will gain hands-on experience developing decentralized applications (dApps) using BOS.
The bootcamp will cover a wide range of topics, including:
Blockchain technology basics
Introduction to NEAR blockchain
Fundamentals of Near blockchain development
Blockchain development using NEAR’s BOS

Introduce women to the world of blockchain technology and its real-world applications.
Provide a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience for developing dApps using NEAR’s BOS.
Empower women to become active participants and contributors in the growing blockchain ecosystem.
Expected result
100 female Web3 developers with a portfolio of Web3 projects built using BOS.
Target Audience
This bootcamp is specifically designed for women who are interested in learning about blockchain development. No prior experience with blockchain programming is required, as the curriculum is tailored for beginners. However, participants need to have basic knowledge of Web2 development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
Training Plan
The bootcamp is divided into two stages and will be delivered through a combination of live virtual sessions, self-paced learning, group learning/assignments, and hands-on projects.
To help facilitate group learning and assignments, provisions would be made to allow ladies to come together once a week and also provide a dedicated group with mentors. This group will enable these ladies to have 24 hour access to mentors to guide them through any of their challenges
These provisions include partnerships with the She Code Africa Chapters Programs and using local chapters to facilitate the bootcamp.
The training will be structured as follows:
Stage 1: Introductory Phase (Weeks 2)
Up to 200 women can register for this introductory phase.
Participants will learn the basics of blockchain technology, NEAR blockchain, and fundamentals of blockchain development using BOS.
This phase will be delivered through online sessions and self-paced learning.
Evaluation will be based on weekly quizzes and assignments.
Stage 2: Project-Based Learning (Weeks 3-8)
After the introductory phase, 50 - 70 participants will be selected to move forward to the project-based learning stage, where they will be split into teams.
Each team will meet up once a week to work on a hands-on dApp development project. The team with the best project for each week will receive a reward.
There would be weekly online sessions as well where projects would be distributed based on the topic for the week.
Participants will also get access to mentorship and feedback from instructors and industry experts.
The last two weeks will be dedicated to developing individual capstone projects using BOS.
Evaluation is based on weekly quiz scores, team performance, and final capstone project.
