Summary:
mpDAO token holders who lock their tokens can delegate governance voting power to trusted community delegates. Delegates who vote earn rewards, split 70% to delegators / 30% to the delegate. Delegators can change delegates after a 7-day unbonding period. Endorsed delegates (pinned + checkmarked) provide a vetted option while keeping the system open for anyone to participate.
Why Delegates?
Not every mpDAO holder has the time or context to follow every governance proposal. Delegation lets token holders pick someone they trust to represent their voting power. This way, more votes get counted, and decisions reflect a broader part of the community.
How It Works
Delegators: Any mpDAO holder can delegate their voting power to another member. Tokens stay fully under the holder’s control. Delegation can be changed or removed at any time, with a 7-day unbonding period before the change takes effect.
Delegates: Community members who commit to following proposals, engaging with the community, and casting votes on behalf of others.
Rewards Split
When a delegate votes using delegated voting power, rewards are shared:
-
70% goes back to delegators (proportional to their delegated amount).
-
30% goes to the delegate, as compensation for their time and effort.
-
If a delegate does not vote, no rewards are distributed for that round.
Becoming a Delegate
Anyone can become a delegate by creating a profile with their values, priorities, and governance background. This can be posted on the Governance Forum and shared in the Meta Pool Discord.
Delegates will be listed on the governance platform so token holders can compare and choose. Active delegates are expected to publish updates about how and why they vote.
Endorsed Delegates
Meta Pool may endorse certain delegates based on their proven track record, contributions to the ecosystem, or strong community support.
-
Endorsed delegates will be pinned to the top of the delegate list and displayed with a checkmark badge for visibility.
-
Endorsement is not exclusive: any community member can still become a delegate and receive votes.
-
The endorsed list serves as guidance for delegators who prefer to choose from vetted, active contributors.
For Delegators
-
You can pick or change your delegate at any time (subject to the 7-day unbonding period).
-
You can always vote by yourself instead of delegating.
-
Rewards are earned either way — self-voting or delegating.
-
Your mpDAO tokens remain under your control at all times.
Benefits
Delegators: Easy participation without needing to track every single vote.
Delegates: Recognition, influence, and rewards for being active in governance.
Meta Pool: Higher participation, stronger legitimacy, and decisions that reflect the wider community.
