Marketing Update: Jan 2021, Introduction & High-Level View of Marketing Part 1

Hi NEAR community, I’m Alexandra Tinsman, the new VP of Marketing for NEAR Foundation.

Today I’m going to walk you through a high-level view of the marketing and branding efforts happening now in the NEAR Foundation. 2020 brought many opportunities for NEAR and 2021 is primed to deliver an even better – and bigger – year for NEAR.

We know we can’t be successful without you and we recognize it’s hard work to manifest the bold vision we all share for NEAR. Our core value is that the most successful projects are driven by their ecosystems. NOTHING beats energized communities.

We believe NEAR’s growth is best measured by the number of contributors and participants we have in our ecosystem and that’s why we want to bring the conversation about the future of NEAR to the public. We think this forum is a good starting place to talk about what we’re building, what we’re doing, and how we can achieve even more together with the community.

Our Vision

We kicked off 2021 by revisiting NEAR’s Vision. We pulled in Illia, Alexander, and Erik to help crystallize what we want to see NEAR achieve in the future. A lot has evolved in NEAR over the past year and we want to make sure everything we do in 2021 ties back to the goal of creating “A world where people have control of their money, data, and power of governance.

Our Mission

Next, we focused on NEAR’s Mission. After soliciting feedback from teams worldwide, the Leadership team narrowed NEAR’s Mission to “Accelerating the World’s transition to open technologies by growing and enabling a community of Developers and Makers.

Let that sit for a minute.

The Developers and Makers of the World are bringing to life open technologies and you are part of this movement.

The Game Plan

You might be asking yourself how the NEAR Foundation and Marketing Team work together alongside the community. The NEAR Foundation exists to provide structure and support to the ecosystem with the goal of succeeding in our efforts so much that in the future, the ecosystem should thrive independently from the NEAR Foundation.

The Marketing Team is one team (of many) embedded in the NEAR Foundation to help support the ecosystem and community. Specifically, the Marketing Team’s approach is to empower, recognize, and amplify ideas, projects, and contributions in our ecosystem. We don’t want to be a single voice or an echo chamber. We believe that together we can be unstoppable. We’re supporting NEAR’s ecosystem by creating tools, resources, communications, media, branding, marketing materials, and all the tools to help our community be the best-equipped network in the ecosystem.

The Map

There are must-win areas on the Marketing Game Plan. We must succeed supporting:

  • Our Brand – We must refresh all branding in NEAR to meet or exceed the highest industry standards.

  • Expanding Partnerships – We need to strengthen the stories of partners who have used NEAR and to ensure their marketing needs are met along the way.

  • Expanding Products – We need to let our community choose the best tools/equipment that they need, deliver it to them, and then set them loose on their objectives.

  • Developer Onboarding – We need to attract developers and empower them at every step so they onboard quickly, efficiently, and have the tools they need when they need them.

In addition, the Marketing Team is specifically working in these areas:

  • Advertising
  • Analytics & Research (Trends)
  • Brand
  • Channel Marketing
  • Communications
  • Content Marketing
  • Events / Hackathons / AMAs
  • Exchange Support
  • Grants Support
  • Guilds Support
  • Influencer Engagement
  • Partnerships
  • Public Relations & Media
  • Recruiting Talent
  • SEO, SEM
  • Thought Leadership

If you see an opportunity or interest here that gets you excited, let us know! There’s a place for everyone to contribute and we want to hear from you in the comments section below.

Onward and thanks for all your support,

Alexandra Tinsman
VP of Marketing, NEAR Foundation

Hi.Alexandra Tinsman,Nice to meet you here
I am Peterfeng.
From February 11 to February 26, 2021 is the Chinese Lunar New Year. Our Avocado Chinese Association has planned a series of activities. At that time, our association will carry out promotion. The purpose is to increase new users, promote wallets, and increase ecological activity. Whether you can implement part or all of it requires your advice and support.

  1. If you log in to berryclub, you will get 100~500 avocados, which requires the approval and support of the berryclub team.
  2. Nearkat, NFT set of card auctions for the New Year of the Ox. The number of cards can be 100-200, the starting price is as low as 0.1near, and the purchase is limited per person, and the auction price doubles after each sale of 10 cards. On Twitter, invite artists who reside in Paras to participate.
  3. NEAR short wallet creation activity, through live broadcast and air class, NEARdrop can be used to create wallets for free.
The BERRYCLUB Chinese community focuses on the application and promotion of the NEAR ecological project, with 5k+ guild members and 30k+ radiators. The core members include Peter Feng, Mr wang, chiongloong, NEAR丨Li Ge, Jack, Youth, Sharp@coin future.

Hello Ms. Tinsman, as you know, Coinbase is about to go public.
Wouldn’t it be an advantage for near to be listed on the coinbase beforehand? Coinbase wants to enable direct placements on the exchange and it would be a shame if Near wasn’t there. There he will certainly get the necessary attention to the coinbase, which we are currently lacking.
even the best team in the crypto room has no chance if the advertising doesn’t fit

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. I want to be clear that the Marketing team doesn’t own pitching/onboarding exchanges. We have an internal team that supports outreach and exchange integration. The marketing team does, however, work with exchanges on marketing campaigns and/or announcements. I can share that we are currently working a few now on this but due to NDAs, we cannot disclose further information.

Lastly we have the same passion as you do to see more exchanges supporting NEAR.
