Our Initiative:

Verse offers the first social music streaming platform addressing the inadequate pay musicians have off their streaming royalties. Verse’s goal is to provide a platform where listeners can stream millions of songs, independent musicians can sell their music directly to listeners using NFTs removing middlemen, and fans operate Nodes hosting artists’ content in turn for rewards.

Verse is a on demand music streaming service targeting independent musicians first. Musicians get paid about $3000 for every 1 million streams on Spotify, Pandora, etc which is roughly 12% of the actual revenue the platforms take in. Verse will change that with a new model, where we split ads 50/50 based on your fans’ streaming time, not the current “Pool model” all the major streaming services use. Think more youtube and Twitch ads split model.

Since Verse is built on NEAR, Musicians have the additional ability to monetize by turning multiple songs into a music NFT album, called Collectable Albums to get mainstream attention, that can be sold directly to their following on Verse, making 70% of the revenue. Verse will provide a simple process to upload music & artwork, Verse auto generates the music NFT, payment portals, etc so makes it extremely easy for a musician to come into web3 with zero knowledge.

Every user whether a listener or musician, will automatically have a NEAR wallet generated and connected to their account, thus furthering our goal of bringing the mass of Web2 to Web3 in an organic fashion.


Funding Request:

For the month of December, we will be running multiple ad campaigns listed below:

  1. Twitter spaces from Verse Musics page @versemusicio (cost = 50 NEAR x 4 weeks = 200 NEAR)

    • 50 NEAR giveaway to top 5 questions from listeners
    • Event every Wednesday
    • Topics will touch on but not limited to: music NFTs & benefits, why musicians going independent, benefits of Verse platform, how we will make it easier for musicians to sell music directly to fans, why NEAR will keep their royalties secure, what are Verse nodes, etc
  2. Twitter spaces from selected influencers page (cost = 100 NEAR x 4 weeks = 400 NEAR)

    • 50 NEAR giveaway to top 5 questions from listeners
    • 50 NEAR paid to influencer
    • Event every Monday
    • Topics will touch on but not limited to: music NFTs & benefits, why musicians going independent, benefits of Verse platform, how we will make it easier for musicians to sell music directly to fans, why NEAR will keep their royalties secure, what are Verse nodes, etc
  3. TikTok videos (cost = 50 NEAR x 8 = 400 NEAR)

    • 8 influencers hired to create 1 video each
    • 50 NEAR paid to each influencer
    • Hashtags #Verse & #NEAR will be required
    • Videos focal points: Verse benefits to musicians, benefits of music NFTs, why musicians should launch on Verse, why built on NEAR, NEAR NFT royalties guaranteed for musicians, etc
  4. 5 Twitter ads (cost = 83.3 NEAR x 4 = 333 NEAR)

    • Ad campaigns to recruit more musicians for Beta launch
    • Ads will be NON CRYPTO related, purely music focused
    • Ads will be:
    1. Musicians make more $$$ launching on Verse
    2. Tired of the minimal royalties on Spotify? Try Verse
    3. Musicians are going independent with Verse
    4. Do you want a 50/50 ad split with this music platform?
    • $250 spent on each ad spanning the month (83.3 NEAR at current rate per ad)
  5. 2 Youtube ads (cost = 133.3 NEAR x 2 = 267 NEAR)

    • Ad campaigns to recruit more musicians for Beta launch
    • Ads will be NON CRYPTO related, purely music focused
    • Ads will be:
      1. Why grow your Music fanbase with Verse?
      2. Why are Musicians launching with Verse?
    • $400 spent on each ad spanning the month (133.3 NEAR at current rate per ad)

These ad campaigns lead up to the launch of our music streaming service. We currently have 19 musicians for launch, 2 of which are Robbie Rivera and Martin Ikin both world known touring DJs, with a goal of reaching 50. The primary goal with these campaigns are for acquisition of more musicians and whitelist node operators.

Funding request is focused on expanding Verse in such:

  • Follower acquisition on twitter
  • Marketing potential Flagship product coming to NEAR
  • Brand exposure as best Web3 music service
  • Musician acquisition for Verse platform
  • Listener acquisition on Verse platform

Expected impact and value you foresee for the NEAR ecosystem

NEAR protocols goal was very clear from the AMA with the foundation, to onboard the next billion users. The only way to do this is with high user acquisition products launched on NEAR. Verse Music will be one of these platforms. The platform will be the first social music streaming platform ever, the highest paying ad split, and the easiest onboarding for the everyday music listener that has zero experience with crypto. We will auto generate a NEAR wallet for every user who signs up, making it so easy your grandma can make an account.

We believe easy onboarding, very clean UI/UX, and a product that can be used daily like music is the true way to mass adoption of crypto. Our goals to onboard 40k users by 2023, continued to the 5 million user target through 2027. If our milestones are hit, its massively beneficial to all in NEAR as that will be new NEAR users, wallets, exposure to NFTs, potential liquidity from secondary sales of music NFT albums on marketplaces, and lets not forget the extensive exposure from musicians talking about how Verse operating on NEAR protocol helped disrupt music streaming for the better.

My company is a music platform launching on NEAR. Since your core focus of the DAO is Content and Social Media, my entire marketing campaign is based on these core 2 topics giving exposure to NEAR.

The Social Media is across Twitter, tiktok, and youtube. Content is conversations across Twitter spaces and videos on Youtube

I believe this should count towards qualifying

Yes I just signed my agreement for the activation grant yesterday after 2 months back and forth talking to Corey P. and Changwe. Still waiting on the dispersal though.

My proposal and milestones are such:

Milestone 1:
Build Verse user login, auto NEAR wallet generation on Main net, VRS Token development

User signup/registration w/o prior NEAR wallet

Outside that the music streaming platform is fully self funded by myself and we are now up to 22 musicians signed up for launch. The amount of exposure and social media presence our marketing budget proposal will generate for NEAR I believe is justifiable. Long term the more musicians and users we recruit through these social campaigns, the more listeners/musicians that'll be onboarded to NEAR with wallets, direct exposure to other companies, the advantages NEAR has over other protocols, and much more...

Examples but not limited to:
musicians launching music NFTs on near instead of eth or cardano
royalties coded into smart contracts (current downfall of all creators on Solana)
