Theme:

The theme of the art contest will be “Sisters of Earth: Celebrating Women’s Deep Connection to Nature”. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own unique ways, exploring the various aspects of the relationship between women and the natural world. The artwork can capture the beauty of nature, the interdependence between women and nature, the transformative power of nature, or any other concept that resonates with the theme.

Objective:

The objective of Sisters of Earth is to explore the deep relationship between women and the natural world. Through this bounty, we aim to highlight the connection, harmony, and strength derived from nature and its profound influence on women’s lives and experiences. We believe that art has the power to convey these connections and emotions, and we want to celebrate and showcase the unique perspectives of women artists within our community. We also encourage women to participate in the workshops with the same theme, that will be held beforehand.

Contest Guidelines:

1. Eligibility: The contest is open to all female artists. Priority will be given to the workshop’s participants.

2. Medium: Artists can submit artwork in any medium, including painting, drawing, digital art, photography, sculpture, or mixed media that could be made into a digital piece to be minted as an NFT. (We highly recommend that if you create a physical piece you include it with the NFT.)

3. Submission: Participants should submit their artwork in digital format on this post by the specified deadline. The submission should include the artist’s name, artwork title, medium, size, and a brief description of the artwork’s connection to the theme.

4. Originality: Artwork should be original creations of the participants.

5. Number of Submissions: Each artist can submit one artwork for the contest.

6. Timeline: The contest will run between Aug 02nd to Aug 25th, allowing ample time for artists to create and submit their entries. The deadline will be Aug 25th, 11:59PM UTC.

7. Judging: A panel of esteemed judges, consisting of renowned women artists and members of the Ina DAO council, will evaluate the submissions based on creativity, interpretation of the theme, technical skills, and emotional impact.

8. Prizes:

• 1st prize: $350 USDC,
• 2nd prize: $250 USDC,
• 3rd prize: $200 USDC

9. Exhibition: A virtual exhibition where all artworks will be shown, will be organised to showcase the works and celebrate the creativity and talent of the participating artists. The exhibition will provide a platform for the broader community to engage with and appreciate the artworks.

With this oil painting I aim to express the magical renewal, the taste of freedom and the deep, festive feeling a woman experiences when she is in nature - being her true self. The fast pace of modern society with its advanced technologies and social roles can often feel oppressive and like a heavy burden that can lead to burnout. A change and transformation is needed. By running through the forest, picking flowers in a meadow, swimming naked in a lake while the moonlight shines brightly, by fully accepting her body and allowing it to merge with all the natural elements - this is how a woman is reborn and feels rejuvenated. For she is not alone, but is supported on her journey by all the forces of nature.

I have chosen to express this transformative energy through oil paint, mixing natural pigments found in the earth with linseed oil - working with this physical medium has brought me closer to the earth, and I hope to pass this inspiration on to all the other wonderful women, sisters of the Earth.

“The Voyage of Goddess: Honoring the Interconnectedness of the Divine Feminine and Nature.”

The Earth is often referred to as Mother Nature or Mother Earth, emphasizing the idea that it is a living, breathing entity. This artwork’s concept depicts a deeper awareness of our relationship with our environment and Mother Nature, whose abundance and wisdom are immense. Nature has the ability to transform and awaken us.

It shows here the similarities between women and nature, which are both traditionally associated with purity, simplicity, beauty, and grace. A women’s seasons and cycles, which can be linked to the earth’s recurring seasons and lunar cycles. Nature and women both have the ability to create life.

This concept supports a historical connection between women and nature, and compares the exploitation of women with that of the environment. Further connections are drawn between cycles like the moon, sun and creation–the Mother Nature herself considered as woman, ruling with power and maternal care. It shows here the four elements of matter, which it described not only physical manifestations of the material world but essential qualities of human nature as well. For instance, the Earth, solid and substantial, was associated with the physical and sensual aspects of life. Water, flowing and ever-changing, denoted emotion and empathy. Air was not only the air we breathe and the atmosphere, but signified the mind, intelligence, and inspiration. Fire meant the Sun and flame; it also indicated creative passion and destructive zeal. We feminize mountains, sea, streams, rivers, trees and forests.

The idea that women have special powers and capacities of

How did it come to this?
My ecological recycling project with fabric appliqués (patchwork) on bags and t-shirts.
Second Life.
I pick up various small pieces and scraps of fabric that are left in the sewing shop after work and are ready to go to the trash. I cut out pictures from printed fabric and doing story appliqués .
This is a shopper bag. All parts of this bag are made from fabric waste. Both inside and outside. Everything is sewn securely, does not shed, lasts a long time. Can use it in life or hang it on the wall, but it’s better to use it and make people around you smiling .
This picture is called How did it come to this?
The moment of a happy woman who lives and works on the ocean coast. Maybe she is a mermaid. Maybe she lives in Portugal or India. Maybe she sees her beloved man who is returning home from fishing. Blue Sky. Blue water. A lot of sun, a lot of work, but now she is sitting on a rock, looking at the ocean, listening to the sound of the surf and the screech of seagulls, and she is happy with this beautiful around.

Title: Healing Connection

The beings that inhabit nature are nature. If a relationship of celebration, joy and respect is created with nature, we plant the seed of healing in our hearts and we also heal our bloodlines, because we understand in practice this connection how it can calm the heart,then makes you think better, then makes you respect the one who came and the one who comes and the different too. Women usually understand this easily because we feel, and once you have felt it, the call will become stronger and stronger to deepen that connection.

The structure of the tree I chose resembles the design of a placenta, the branches resemble our veins. There is a subtle connection between us and the elements that transform us as part of something bigger.

I worked with elements that I learned in workshops with the same theme at INAdao: AI and connected it to the work of bringing in the 4 elements: a lake in front of the tree for water, a circle of lights for fire, the magical balls of lights for air and the great tree of life for earth.

The idea has womans (Sisters of Earth) on a starry full moon night celebrating the matriarch of the forest with requests and thanks in the form of a circle with candles and seedlings destined for the next planting. The leaves and branches intertwine in the cosmic figure of the child, mother and an old woman (who is us and our ancestry too), above the tree: again, we are all interconnected, below, a hand offering a new, bright germinated seed, a beautiful life.

Like a nature, a woman gives life. But they both need love and care from the people around them. Because once we abuse them, it can lost their beauty, or it may turn them into something we don’t want them to be, cause them pain and worst it will die.

Have you ever think of what might happen in the future we continue to abuse our nature, cutting down trees to build an infrastructures, throwing garbages on rivers and seas, using dynamite on fishing or other activities that may affect the environment and the people living in it. Or a woman, a mother or a child abused by an exploited people? It might cause continues growth of risks that affects us.

When that time comes, everything happens and a beautiful memories we have with them will remain as a memory in a future. A future with no hope and full of sadness.

We all hope a better future, a euphoria feeling of contentment, love and happiness. A fantasy of future that we have to work for, and dream for the next generation.

So start and continue to love and take care of them. Let women and nature continue to bloom beautifully. And save them for the next generations future.
