NEAR Protocol Nigeria was established to raise awareness about the NEAR blockchain and its potential applications to address the challenges faced by Nigeria as a nation.

Proposal Focus:

Quarterly OKRs

Growth Projections: Expected growth of 20% on our Near Social.

Onboarding: Onboarding 100-200 new wallets each month through our online activities and partnerships.

Accounts Retention: Retain at least 60% of our onboarded users and also maintain interaction on the chain.

On-chain Interactions: Ensure the increase of onchain activities and engagement by at least 60% of accounts retained engaging with more than one dApp in the NEAR ecosystem.

Boost in Social Engagement: Utilizing our various channels we target an overall 20% increase in social engagements and activities. This includes boost in Twitter impressions, engagements on Near BOS, telegram community activeness.

Mass Education/Enlightenment: Target to Increase Education of NEAR Protocol Blockchain to mass audiences in Nigeria through our educational contents, AMAs, workshops and webinars.

Activity of Interest for the month of April

For the month of April we are focusing on reactivating our community and directing our activities on following aspects, which are:

a. Education/Workshops
b. Marketing/Onboarding

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

In order to measure our progress and success in achieving our goals, we have established the following KPIs:

Community Growth Rate: Establish a 20% plus Monthly Growth in the number of community members on NEAR Social.

Education/Workshops: Provide series of educational materials for easy onboarding for the community. This includes articles, translations, videos and infographics. Also having live practical community workshops for interacting with DApps on NEAR.

Partnerships Established: Forging further partnership with web3 communities, ecosystem projects for marketing, 1-2 New Projects/Communities onboarded Monthly.

User Engagement/Community Activity: To enhance user engagement and community activities on our Near Social through activity-based events and contests.

Online Community Activities to onboard and retain users e.g Contests, AMAs, Quiz Session etc…

How to achieve stated KPIs

Community Growth Rate:

In order to establish a Monthly Growth of 20% in the number of community members on NEAR Social we intend to push all activities on our Near Social.

Education:

a. Bi-Weekly DApp Workshops
Conduct weekly workshops on decentralized applications (DApps) built on NEAR Protocol. Dapps such as Paras/Zomland and Ref Finance.

Each workshop will involve hands-on demonstrations of the DApps, allowing participants to gain practical experience using them.

Participants who successfully utilize the DApps will be eligible for a competition, and winners will be selected based on their level of engagement and effective utilization of the DApps.

b. Articles and Translations
We plan to educate the community by creating two high-quality articles and make available 3 translated articles of the NEAR ecosystem into three of our community’s native Nigerian languages, Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo, and then publish them on Medium. This is to engage more Nigerians for the NEAR ecosystem and also simplify the onboarding process as related to creation of Near.Social accounts, Near BOS and various products built on NEAR.

c. Educative Graphics and Videos
Also for the month we want to create visual contents in the form of infographics and videos to educate the community and simplify the onboarding process especially on the IamHuman verification process, use of key near products.

Onboarding/Partnerships

We plan to organize events and contests for onboarding new members into Near and inviting the existing ones to Near socials and other on-chain activities. Events such as referral contests and giveaways.

We intend to have 1-2 partnership with ecosystem Projects/web3 Communities.

We intend to onboard 100 to 200 wallets using Keypom.

User Engagement/Community Activity:

We intend to push in activities for the community inorder to keep our social media active, enhance user engagement on our Near Social and retention of existing users. This includes having a meme/poster contests, quizzes, weekly price predictions etc…

Also to post daily updates and trends on near.social and other distribution channels. This will boost our Twitter impressions and keep our community up-to-date on activities within the Near Ecosystem.

Project Timeline: The date of proposal approved to 30th April. After which we will compose a comprehensive report of all activities in the month of April.

Thank you for your proposal and the great commitment from NPK to maintain the community even without funding. However, at this stage, we are not accepting quarterly submissions, better to break down the proposal into achievable monthly deliverables that are easy to understand and execute.

-The proposal contains too many KPIs without clear strategies on how to achieve them. We need a more focused approach. For instance, we need clarification on the number of partnerships to establish per month

Additionally, there’s an overemphasis on social media, which might not align with our core KPIs, especially for our old community like NPK. We should consider reallocating resources to activities that directly contribute to the growth, retention, and engagement goals.

Please try to streamline the proposal, focusing on an actionable approach that aligns with our objectives and priorities.

Thanks for the review @Bakaka

Basically following up with the proposed format from Africa DAO. We are to state our quarterly OKRs. This is what we want to achieve monthly before the end of the quarter.

The proposal is basically for the month of April of which the set KPIs is for the month of April only.

We will increase our achievable KPIs for the next months as we need to stick to bringing out positive results for the month of April.

For the Partnerships I had stated in the proposal that we want to achieve 1-2 partnerships per month. This is not our limit as we would expand partnerships for the next months.

Our focus for the month of April is basically on Education, marketing and Onboarding.

All set out educational contents and marketing activities are pushing towards onboarding new members and also retention of existing members.

We need to keep our community more active and also grow our community and as such social activities is very paramount for we to thrive to success.

All activities will be On-chain through the use of Near Social as all events will be done on Near Social.

We are ready to give our all to make Near Known in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Hello @Paulp5000 Please, reduce the KPIs for your community so you can work effectively.

I will recommend focusing on specific dApps for the month to drive a real retention rate.

Onboarding users is not always the issue. especially with sharddog and keyporm in use. The major thing is the retention rate.

I understand the number of contents to be created and other works to be done. However, this number seems low given the amount requested for.

$1580/30=$52.6

This somehow means you are spending $52.6 to onboard one person.

I didn’t specify that we would use the whole amount of $1580 to onboard 10-30 new users

I had specify on the budget breakdown that $200 will be used to carry out onboarding/marketing activities.

As such $200/30… that’s $6.67.

We are not considering 10-30 new wallets as a limit as we could even surpass such in the month.

As our activities will also drive in more users and increase the retention of our existing users within the community.

I have included achievable KPIs within the proposal as we want to produce positive results and reactivate our community.

We are requesting a total sum of $1580 to carry out all activities for the month which includes Education/workshop, Onboarding/marketing, community engagement, and team compensation.

We are set to push in our all to promote Near in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Isn’t this too high?
A wallet needs approximately 0.3N to connect to a dApp and make at least a single transaction.

The summary of what I am saying is that, if the end goal of this proposal is to report about 10-30 onboarded, then the total funds is too much.

Also, what is the average user base of NPK?
Does your community fall under 100-200 active users, 200-300, 300-400?
If yes, there are specifications of the funding to apply.
