Introduction

At NEAR Africa we’re dedicated to advancing Africa’s decentralized future through inclusive education, vibrant community building, open-source contributions, and developer support. Over the next two months, our focus is on accelerating progress in these areas to empower individuals and communities across the continent. Additionally, we intend to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 by actively engaging Web2 developers and their communities.

Objectives

  1. Host an in-person workshop in Abuja, Nigeria, focusing on chain abstarction, BOS, and open-source contributions within the NEAR ecosystem. The workshop will prominently feature presentations and interactive sessions by key projects such as Build DAO, Mintbase, NEAR Devhub, and Potluck.
  2. Target Web2 developer communities in Abuja, including Abuja Tech Creatives, Bitcoin developers Abuja, Open Source Community Africa, and Polygon Guild Abuja, alongside entrepreneurs and university students, to foster cross-pollination of ideas and expertise between traditional and decentralized technologies.
  3. Aim to attract an audience of 100-200 individuals, ensuring broad representation from diverse backgrounds to maximize the workshop’s impact and reach.

  • Send out reminders and confirmations to registered attendees.
  • Finalize catering arrangements.

June 29 - July 5, 2024

  • Conduct final walkthrough of the venue and equipment setup.
  • Prepare name tags and registration materials.
  • Review event protocols and emergency procedures.

July 6 - July 12, 2024

  • Execute marketing blitz.
  • Coordinate with sponsors and partners.
  • Conduct a rehearsal of event proceedings.

July 13 - July 19, 2024

  • Monitor RSVPs and finalize seating arrangements.
  • Confirm catering order and delivery logistics.
  • Conduct final equipment checks.

July 20 - July 26, 2024

  • Set up event signage and registration desks.
  • Welcome speakers/panelists and assist with any last-minute needs.
  • Execute the event according to the finalized agenda.
  • Capture photos/videos for documentation and post-event promotion.

How many speakers?
Marketing Promotion. What and what will be done for that rate?
Transportation: who and who will be transported and from where to where?
Printing and Stationery: what and what will be printed and in what quantity?
Equipment Rental: what and what will be rented.

  • Marketing Promotion:
    • Registration link will be set on Luma, we’ve used that for our past events, for example BOS workshop Accra
    • Social media ads for 1 month = $100
    • Graphics & Content creation = $300
    • Influencer marketing = $150
    • 3 Twitter spaces with developer communities = $150
  • Speakers: $200 bounty each for 5 speakers, from Mintbase, Potlock, Devhub, and BuildDAO
  • Transportation:
    • $500 to transport 2 team members and 3 volunteers based in Nigeria
    • $100 for a bus to transport students from the University of Abuja to and from the event venue
    • $400 to cover accommodation for the team and volunteers, they’ll arrive 3 days before the event for final preparations onsite like setting up registration desks, arrangements, and testing equipment.
  • Printing & Stationery
    • $150 to print t-shirts for 100 participants
    • $50 to print a banner, and 2 roll-up banners for the event, we have our stands already, we purchased them during our past events
  • Equipment rental
    • $50 for projector and screen
    • $150 for sound engineer/DJ
    • $150 for speakers
    • $50 for a standby generator
