Title: The Race between worlds (a short story)
Once upon a time , there was a boy named Tayo and he was a good child.
Unfortunately, he had lost his sight in a car accident,
but he never gave up on life. Everyday he demonstrated that he could manage to live without being a burden to others. Many times he even went from his village and came back all by himself.
In the same village, there was an arrogant girl called Manu. One day Manu wanted to make fun of Tayo and challenged him to a race from the village to the town.
Tayo accepted. “Okay but on one condition. If i win the race you will give me a big Can of oil.”

Manu, added one more condition. “I set the time and place for the race.”
She chose the forest path leading to the town.
It didn’t matter to Tayo if it was rough and dangerous. He walked as he always did and reached the town.
But manu got lost and fell into many holes and got thorns in her body and face.
She arrived town an hour later than Tayo.
Tayo was elated and won the big can of oil.

Name of story: 51 Boats

Once upon a time, men had 51 long boats they used to fish upon the waters and this greatly vexed the blue whale. One day the blue whale who felt he was the alpha of both land and sea invaded the land of men. Because the blue whale was the biggest and strongest, he crushed men easily but just before destroying all of man the king of men called for a truce and said "mighty blue whale, forgive us, you are truly the King of both land and sea. We won’t fish in your seas Again. As a sign of our truce, take our 51 long boats which we use to journey through your seas.
The blue whale accepted the peace offering and returned to sea.
In his honour, he would hold huge celebrations on his 51 long boats every month and even invite king of men and his subjects. During the celebrations he would boast of his might and claim no one living could tell his true age. During one of these parties, one man asked “mighty blue whale, what would you do if a man could tell your age?” the blue whale replied, "I would return your boats and I will never visit the land of men again.
Once men were taken back to land, they journeyed far looking for the wisest of men and found a man called bolu. They explained their predicament to bolu and begged for his help. Bolu assured them that he would help and they should give him 3 months.
they Immediately left with bolu and journeyed back home. Bolu then went to their sea shore and waited to monitor the seas. On the third night he noticed a strange thing. He saw blue whale came to shore disguised as a man. blue whale would then make a strange sound and Thereafter, 7 Ladies would come out of the bush and blue whale would follow one of them into the land of men. Bolu followed him to the lady’s house & saw that she would massage blue whale and after that he would pay heavily and return back into water before day break. He did this twice a week And bolu monitored for many weeks.
One day blue whale as usual came to land and disguised as a man. After making the call, a certain fair lady came out amongst the others who usually wasn’t among before but because the lady was the most beautiful he’d ever seen he didn’t bother. He followed her to her house and as usual laid back for her to massage him. But This time she said she would feed him before the massage and he accepted. She gave him a most delicious soup and then the most amazing massage. blue whale was so satisfied that he doubled her pay asked for her name, and went back saying to himself he would never go with any girl except Rosa.
As usual blue whale visited land again but never saw Rosa amongst the ladies. He felt the other ladies had gotten rid of her and threatened them to produce her but all to no avail. He would come to shore every night calling for Rosa but she was never seen. One day bolu appeared just as he came out calling for rosa. He then approached the blue whales and said he knows of one of the most beautiful lady on land who Cook’s and gives the best massage. He said he knows where to find her and just as he said, took king of blue whale on a boat to certain side of the ocean and there she was.
blue whale saw her and asked her why she had hidden herself from him. She said she couldn’t come to him because he was too old and she didn’t like old men especially those she couldn’t tell their age. He replied" what??? Me??? Old??? I’m only 316 years old, count the lines on my back, they tell no lies. She did and surely they were 316 in number. Then she gave him a good massage and cooked her sweetest meal For him then escorted him back to the seas. Unknown to blue whale, this lady was bolu’s wife and they had planned it all along to get his true age out of him.
Weeks after, king of blue whales held another celebration and sent his 21 long boats to invite king of men. As usual he made boast of no one knowing his true age but this time, king of men claimed to know his age saying “you’re 316 years old and the lines on your back is proof of it”
King of blue whales was broken as he remembered how he revealed his truth to Rosa and felt betrayed.
That was how he was thrown into the water and his 21 long boats were taken back to shore.
Every night, blue whale would jump out of water high into the air to stretch his back as he would call out for Rosa before diving back into the sea. He never invaded land of men again and 51 boats are mounted as a momentum in memory of the triumph over the blue whale.

Once upon a time, there was a lonely and desolate place that was forgotten and not wanted by anyone.
One day a smart investor took note of the place and purchased it.
She made up her mind to make it the the best resident in the area to live in. So she got to work. Got the place plastered, tiled the floors, painted the walls… gradually the place was taking a new sharp, people started taking note of how
beautiful the place is.
The gradually transformation was taking place… Now people wanted to inspect the place so they can live it but this smart investor was not yet done with her plans.
So she carefully hand picked the cabinet, marble and chose the colours she wanted for this place… Wow her finally results was amazing. The place took on a minimalist style that no one could resist. She her efforts paid of and the place attracted high end individual that wanted to live in this place that was once forgotten and abandoned. The End

Once upon a time it was all a dream, living out my dreams, I’d constantly as a kid paint perfect pictures of a life with fewer worries and more life changing memories. It all seemed far fetched but yet so real that I can almost feel it.
The life of a purposed driven young lad with hope to touch the world and make a better place with the gift he was blessed with.
Gradually seeing all my dreams unfold is nothing but divine, knowing it wasn’t just the hard work and late nights that brought me this far but God’s doing.
I’m not where I wanna be yet but certainly not where I used to be and so I’m grateful and remain resilient.

This story took place last Thursday - Friday and based on a real life experienced by the author - me.

Once upon a time in a fair weather from a simple province, Shiin woke up from bed immediately and finalize the decision that will change her life forever.
She prepared her luggages and took up a mini bus as a certain amount of worries clouded her mind and it was quite disturbing.
She opened her notes and started reviewing while taking a simple glimpse outside the window to appreciate the beauty of nature. Tomorrow is the day that she begs to wait.
Shiin waited patiently in the terminal after getting the ticket that bounds to another city. Her mind was occupied, wondering if she’ll able to pass the exam tomorrow.
It was quite cold and the clouds were gray as if saying that it will pour out rain in the middle of the journey.
She takes every opportunity to refresh her mind by looking at the nature and islands in the middle of the ocean.
The nature was overwhelming. Shiin feels like they were telling her to calm down and everything will be alright.
At last, the ship sailed and Shiin was taking the exit route out of the sea port.
It was rainy on the middle of her way to her dormitory. It feels nostalgic.
The day came, August 5, 2022, that Shiin will be taking her examination. She prays to God that everything will go according to His plan.

Once upon a time, this is the picture of the life me and my family were living; we were living in a canal house and we did not dare to sleep whenever it rained. Instead we would prepare to work tirelessly without paycheck or without food in our tummy lol, but it wasn’t funny because whenever it rained for 30mins our room would be flooded and we would be packing water for 4 hours or more.
I remember every morning, Ma’ami would wake us around 5am, if we’re a bit lucky then 6am to our morning devotion and then we would start our chores.
Sometimes greens beside the canal were the only hope of food to eat for the day. Long story short, no one deserves to live this way.

Once upon a time – there was a girl named SASHA. Their family was very poor because poverty hits their country. She’s studying hard to graduate and gave her parents a better life.
One day sasha went out to scho walking by herself. At the middle of her walking she saw something that she might interested
**Sasha saw an not ordinary stone, a beautiful stone with a nice pretty texture. It looks like a big diamond to her. **
She pick it up and put it on her bag. And then she continue walking to go on her school.
At the afternoon, she’s finally going back home together with the stone that she picked up
She went back home, put the stone on her desk.
Sasha can’t stop looking at the stone, She believes that there’s something on the stone. Sasha thinking that the stone might be an WISHING STONE that grant all her wishes
**Sasha tried to wish a marker that can use on her school,
“Miracle Stone, Lucky Stone, I wish I could have a lot of markers for my schooling”. **
After she said her wish, Sasha close her eyes and wait for more that a minute.
And suddenly, there was a sound that make her eyes open.
The MARKERS came from somewhere. She was very happy after seeing the the item that she wish for.
And after that she continue to wish more
and more and more
Sasha just continue wishing on the stone, she wish food for family, clothes for her sibling and machine for her father’s work, kitchen stuff for her mother.
