Looks like thereās been quite a bit of chatter on this particular post.
While Iām glad to see that people are involved with DAO, I think the personal attacks, badgering messages, and disparaging remarks on the forum are not the purpose of the Marketing DAO.
Forgive me for my radio silence but I feel as though most of the information has been addressed.
Fast Approval:
I agree this proposal was approved more quickly than it should have been.
As others have stated, the normal procedure is three council members will give their approval before a proposal is marked as approved. This has been addressed in @Dachaās comments above.
As stated in the comments above, during our regular weekly call, we clustered all of applications for NearCon. The conversation led us to examine all current proposals that were related to NearCon. This post was among them.
The verbal approval was given during the call. One of the other council members marked this proposal to āapproved.ā
I donāt believe he marked this post as āapprovedā in an effort to circumvent a system. I genuinely believe he was doing so in order get more proposals through the process. It was an honest mistake on his part.
Again, as stated in this thread, that shouldnāt be normal procedure. We have addressed this.
Delays in Other Proposals
Some proposals require numerous discussions, research, and independent review in order for them to be approved.
Itās a case-by-case basis for many of these projects. Weāre trying to determine the impact and value of projects based on the proposalās content, previous work, and countless other metrics/considerations.
Delays in Payouts
The council is not responsible for the timing of payouts.
If it were up to me, we would make sure everyone was paid on the same day.
A new streamlined process for requesting funds after approval has been implemented recently. Despite the Near Foundationās best efforts to make things easier on the community, there are still delays. And those delays are affecting everyone.
Thatās all the information I have. Weāre just trying to understand the circumstances and support wherever we can.
Personal attacks
Thank you for pointing out that my companyās Instagram follower count is low.
Before you try to build up your presence on any channel, ask:
- Who is your target customer?
- What types of media do they consume/
- Where do they generally go to consume media?
Instagram isnāt the channel we use for lead generation.
My agency is a B2B services provider. We sell marketing services to businesses.
Historically, IG just isnāt a good network for generating new B2B opportunities within companies that generate a minimum of $5M per year.
Messaging me
I genuinely welcome messages and appreciate it when people ask questions.
Especially if people trying to understand more about DAOs, Near, or looking for relevant resources- Iām happy to respond.
Demanding that I respond or badgering me with sentence fragments isnāt how this community works.
Attempts at bullying are against community guidelines. It shouldnāt matter if itās a council member or anyone else in the community.
I hope this clears the air a bit. Even if Iām addressing pretty much all the same things that have been said above.
Thanks!
