Section 7. DAO/Project Charter/White or Litepaper and Goals

  • Project Overview: The Aurora Community DAO Charter encapsulates the mission to transition into the Near Digital Collective (NDC) while fostering a new phase of governance that is deeply rooted in decentralization. The vision is to create an ecosystem that is empowered, transparent, and continuously improving. Core programs are aimed at attracting new users, increasing transaction volumes, and ensuring growth and retention within the Aurora Ecosystem. The team is dedicated to these goals and aligns with the NDC’s vision of equitable power distribution and the use of decentralized technologies. The requested budget for the next three months will be detailed in the financial section of the application.
  • Problem to Solve: The Aurora Community DAO is set to tackle the challenges of centralization in governance, barriers to entry for new users, and the need for increased transaction volume and user retention. By addressing these issues, the DAO aims to enhance the overall health and sustainability of the Aurora Ecosystem.
  • DAO/Project Charter: The governance structure of the Aurora Community DAO is designed to distribute power equitably among community members, ensuring transparency and empowerment in decision-making. The processes involve clear guidelines for proposal submissions, voting, and implementation. Member responsibilities include active participation in governance, contribution to projects, and adherence to the DAO’s values and objectives.
  • Achievement of NDC Priorities: The Aurora Community DAO’s activities are in line with the NDC’s KPIs, focusing on expanding the user base, increasing transactions, and fostering a vibrant community. The commitment to decentralization and leveraging decentralized technologies also supports the NDC’s broader goals of creating a more equitable and accessible ecosystem.
  • Roadmap: The roadmap for the Aurora Community DAO includes strategic stages for the implementation of governance initiatives, community growth, and the integration of decentralized technologies. It also outlines the future stages of the DAO’s development and provides an overview of dissolution procedures, ensuring a clear path for progression and contingency planning.

  • Possible Roadblocks: Lack of funding (Inability to continue the Ambassador Program, mini-grant program and marketing).

This proposal framework is designed to align with the Aurora Community DAO’s mission to empower and support the Aurora ecosystem through community-driven projects and initiatives, and its vision to establish Aurora and Near as a leading platforms for decentralized applications, prioritizing transparency, user engagement, and innovation, as outlined in the Aurora Community DAO Charter.

Alot of this is marketing spend and want to see more spent on driving chain abstraction narrative. Their is no clear KPIs, not sure how they are tackling critical issues, and this is very broad. Not sure what Aurora DAO has achieved in the past year and would like to outilne this as their record is being touted. Hard to believe that no funding has been given to these past initiatives.

It looks like an Implacable ambassador program with flowless and explicit structure for not only to support aurora but also to fly to the moon. Especially this ambassador program will take aurora go through the roof after launching, I am really over the moon to see it live

Hello @minorityprogrammers

We understand your concerns regarding the use of the budget and the achievements of Aurora DAO. We would like to emphasize that the marketing program and the mini-grant program are key elements and are dynamic, aimed at developing the ecosystem. These programs not only contribute to attracting new projects that make a significant contribution to the development of applications within the ecosystem but also stimulate contributor activity. In addition, the ambassador program plays an important role, as ambassadors carry out specific on-chain tasks, and their involvement is not limited to just participating in social networks. These are selected individuals, chosen based on strict criteria.

As for the achievements of Aurora DAO last year, it is worth noting that such an organization did not exist last year. However, many participants of today’s DAO were actively involved in regional communities that were formed during that period. These communities have made a significant contribution to the development of the ecosystem, and their achievements over the past year can be seen in detail on the relevant link.

Quick Question…

~What is the Aurora Star Ambassador Program and why so much allocation to it? The Ambassador team and Ambassador Program has taking approx half of the budget

And how is it getting more allocation than a the mini grants program?

~How will people build on Aurora when there is no very little allocation for it…

Still dont understand how Events/Marketing and Ambassador Program are getting more than tge actual grants program that will help being builders build on Aurora…

Thanks for your proposal,

I am confused as to the nature of the Aurora Community DAO. Not because I am unable to read the proposal, but because it seems at odds with the reality that I see from Aurora in the real world: a dead blockchain.

  • How can we reconcile the previous work from the DAO with current state of the blockchain?
  • If Aurora is going down a Business Solutions route, does it make sense to have such a high expense community? (There doesn’t seem to be much to promote or sell)
  • How much funding did you receive from Aurora grants before that got stopped?
