Hello, @marketingdao-council and the near community.
This is a detailed report on the progress we made on the Near Tribe event / Launch.

Updated Timeline:

Highlights:

This was an exciting period for us as we established the first club of the Near tribe initiative in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

In the initial proposal, we intended to establish the first Near tribe club in Pan Atlantic University of Nigeria but due to the delay in funding in the month of June, we had a minor setback in the plans as the school went on holiday at the end of June to resume activities late October. However, we had to scout for another school, re-strategize and execute which lead us to establishing the first Near tribe club in LASUTH (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital) which turned out to be a huge success.

From our various meetings with the students, 3 esco’s were elected to spearhead the Near tribe club in LASUTH.
These esco’s are responsible for

  • Holding weekly or month meetings with their fellow students
  • Organize outreaches to teach about web3 and the Near protocol
  • Coordinate the club affairs in their school.

Metrics:

  • Planting of Near Tribe club in LASUTH
  • 13 new wallets opened
  • Creation of dedicated Near Tribe LASUTH discord channel under Blaqk stereo Discord server #neartribe.

Observation & Next Steps:
A lot was learnt during our visit to LASUTH and we intend implementing our finding in other outreaches to other universities. A few of the initial plans as made had to be changed and funds had to cover for those expenses as we decided to put exco’s of LASUTH on a monthly payroll of $50 USD each which I would be proposing in my next proposal for other school projects. Also Facilitation and constant check ups is highly required so as the message of the “Near Tribe” is completely understood. Lastly, the students requested video tutorials explaining Near tribe and the various components and things within the Near ecosystem which We are really looking forward to working on as soon as possible which would make our work so much easier and a 150% more effective.

Conclusion:
I am happy with the results so far and I believe with the lessons learnt from this first planting of the Near Tribe LASUTH, other Universities would be done more smoothly.

I apologize for the late report regards this project as we wanted to ensure our goals where achieved and also proper documentation is recorded for the sake of this report.

Special thanks to the Marketing Dao for their continued support.

Hi.
Your previous proposal mentioned inviting 100 participants. Specify the number of participants who attended the training. Do you interact with other learning projects? What materials do you use during training? Do you have video reviews of your lessons?
Thx

Hello, @pathfinder
Thanks for your interest in this project. As we had to change the intended target school so also our estimates had to change as well, The event had about 30 participants and we had to use a school hangout approach in other to bring the students in. Some of the handouts/booklets I designed were shared with them which just gave a brief overview of the Near tribe, our intentions for their school, and of course how it would be a beneficial for them.

I have looked for some learning projects in the forum and haven’t come across any that these students would or could relate to. These are mostly medical students that had zero interest for tech until the Near tribe came to their school. So this new experience has given me a new approach on how best to educate them and keep them engaged with what is happening on this side of the world  I am however making some educational modules that would ease the learning curve of web3 blockchain for them to learn faster, Videos of these lessons will be shared with the community as soon as I’m done creating them.

If you do have any recommendations on learning materials to help my work, I would really appreciate that. :hugs:
