Women Empowerment through Blockchain Education Program in Abia State

Hello @she is near council, I bring you a collaboration proposal for February 2024.

Overview:
The Abia State Government, through the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, is launching EmpowerTech, a tech literacy program partly focused on empowering women and fostering self-reliance. We are proposing a collaboration with She is NEAR DAO and the Government of Abia State on this impactful women empowerment program. Aligned with your ethos of access and decentralization, this program aims to equip underprivileged women with digital skills to gain economic independence.

Introduction:

Background:
Abia State is committed to women’s empowerment as a poverty alleviation strategy, aiming to enhance self-reliance and elevate living standards. Our Team seeks She is Near DAO collaboration to implement a tech literacy program as part of this initiative.

Key Components And Proposed Responsibilities:
SHE IS NEAR:
provide syllabus: develop a rich education syllabus for the program.
tutors: Provide Devs with adequate knowledge of blockchain,Near ecosystem and BOS to deliver the classes virtually from any part of the world.
educational content: make available adequate educational content and materials for the classes.
And retention mechanism. Develop a suitable retention plan to retain the ladies in the DAO and ecosystem after the training.
Evaluation: evaluate program success.
Progress tracking and adjustment: Develop mechanism to track progress and make necessary adjustments if needed.

ABIA STATE GOVERNMENT
provide a physical classroom: provide a physical environment suitable for learning.
gadgets: will provide laptops for all participants.
Will ensure that the classrooms are well set up with needed equipments like Projectors, internet etc to facilitate teaching.
Provide supervisors to supervise class activities and ensure attendance.
Logistic support: the government will also ensure logistic support to convey the participants to the class location daily.
Retention plan funding (to ensure that the students are retained and engaged in the ecosystem)
Fund contests and Projects to be built on BOS.

Duration and frequency:
10 weeks
3 classes weekly
Weekly Assignments, tasks and office hours for consultation.
Project details:
PARTICIPANT CRITERIA:
Minimum requirement: School school certificate and basic tech skills.
Minimum of 100 participants per set, ensuring personalized attention and effective learning

SCALABILITY:
A continuous program with plans for expansion to reach women across all 17 local government areas in the state. we envision empowering over 1,200 women in this program across Abia State over the next 4 years.
WHY SHE IS NEAR?
She is Near is a DAO focused on onboarding and equipping women with Web3/blockchain education with a focus on Near blockchain and BOS among many other goals and we have similar goal.

Evaluation and Success Metrics:
Monitor the retention rate of participants within 6 months.
Evaluate participants’ proficiency in blockchain education and technology.
Measure the program’s impact on the community, focusing on increased tech literacy.

Establish a model for continuous empowerment programs.
Create opportunities for participants to utilize their newly acquired skills to provide services to the community
Increase number of women Devs and tech literacy.

Benefits to she is near (kPI)
Onboarding: The DAO will be onboarding these young vibrant girls into their DAO.
Reach: It is an opportunity to reach new users and adopters as this will be an opportunity to take Near education to real people.
Number of projects: as part of the retention plan, the students will build products that targets the states needs on Near therefore attracting more users.

EmpowerTech is a transformative initiative aligning with She is Near’s commitment to women’s education and community impact. The collaboration promises to bridge the digital divide for women in Abia State, fostering economic empowerment and self-reliance.
