Abstract on Web 3.0 Economy **
** By Mayowa Fatokun (fatokunmayowa.near)
Web 3 Economy
The world is a global village and everyone is connected in one way or the other through various means and because of several factors such as music, religion, politics, sports and the most important thing is Internet, through which all of these can be trasnmitted and accessed from your remote location.
Web 3.0 is not a new phenomenon and as clearly seen and known, it is an upgrade to Web 2.0. Web 3.0 was phrased in 2014 by Ethereum co-founder Gavin Wood, and the idea gained interest in 2021 from cryptocurrency and it is fast rising, gaining popularity as more people are jumping from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0
Economy is said to be good when it favours people, when buying and selling favours people or when it is stable thereby creating a way or avenue for stable investments that bring profitable returns to the traders, we say the economy is good or favourable and such is the economy of Web 3.0.
Dealing in cryptocurrency has never been easier, better or faster until Web 3.0 which has allowed a lot of peoole to come freely and trade, not only trade, but meet with fellow crypto enthusiasts, thereby creating a colony of free minded people in all walks of life to associate together through Web 3 economy.
The economy is decentralized and several smaller groups can be autonomous as contrasted to Web 2 where economy is centralized.
A decentralized economy makes it easier for everybody to participate independently because of the autonomy they enjoy, buy and sell and also have a peace of mind to do all these because of the transparency in the ecosystem.
Persons can buy crypto, sell, invest, make profit and re - invest without hassles.
Web 3.0 economy is mostly stable, futuristic and indeed a game changer.
Artists and Web 3.0 – The Future of the Internet
–by Joshua Mallik, writer at Arts & Crypto (joshuamallik.near)
Web 3.0, NFTs, Cryptocurrency and Blockchain are some of the most common words internet users encounter nowadays. In this age of exponential technological advancement, there are some things that just cannot remain the same, and it’s time we learned a bit about the change.
The Internet we’re most familiar with – Web 2.0
Social networking and interactivity on the Internet began to skyrocket almost two decades ago, resulting in the social web — Web2.0 , the most popular version of the World Wide Web today.
Using Web 2.0, we became an integral part of the Internet instead of just using it as a tool, and that certainly brought its own set of problems.
People initially thought that the Internet would facilitate global freedom of expression, but centralized entities all over the world started taking control as word spread.
For example, in China, Internet access is so restricted that they have a police force of 2 million cyber-cops to keep their citizens in line.
It is impossible to access Wikipedia in Russia and India has had its Internet completely shut off several times.
These are just a few of the many reasons why it is necessary to put more control in the hands of Internet users in a more democratic , decentralized environment, and that is exactly what Web 3.0 was designed to do.
What is Web 3.0?
Web 3.0 is a truly decentralized internet network, which means that no central authority, group or individual can control or alter the network by themselves.
Currently, your online data such as photos/videos, posts, information, credit card details, etc, are all owned by trillion dollar companies, and even if you remove it from the websites, it still gets used to curate the ads you see on a daily basis, and that’s just one of the issues.
The new internet revolution runs on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, creating a much safer environment that is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. Web 3.0 will ultimately change the way companies and businesses operate for the better by eliminating middlemen, creating a trust-less society, and expanding the scale of human interactivity exponentially.
Why Web 3.0 is a game-changer for Artists
Most of the Internet currently is controlled by a handful of social media giants, distributors, and massive tech companies. It should be possible for Artists to earn what they deserve without having to go through third-party entities who earn significantly more than they do.

With the advent of Web 3.0 and it’s continuous growth along with the world of NFTs and Art , there are numerous opportunities created and many benefits.
Artists can directly communicate with potential buyers and collectors in a decentralised environment
Artists get incentivised significantly better for their work
NFT museums are slowly coming into existence, enabling Artists to connect with fans on a global scale, without the need of middlemen
There are endless possibilities of collaboration and innovation in the field with other creators in the community
At UniqArt, we strive to help Artists by providing them with a decentralised marketplace/social network where they can show and sell their creations with the world. With the Web 3.0 revolution, it is evident that Artists now have an opportunity to work in a better environment, so why not get involved?

Abstract
Web 3.0 economy and blockchain-based art
by Mariana Hartenthal (mhartenthal.near)
One of the main criticisms against NFTs is its supposedly gratuitous commercialism. Critics argue that blockchain-based art exists only for opportunists to make a buck out of disingenuous – or foolish – collectors expecting to make a profit from it in the secondary art market. Although we cannot deny that speculation and a sometimes-unfounded excitement is part of the nascent NFT ecosystem, this accusation misses one important aspect of the inner workings of the art world. Even the most traditional artforms are entangled with the market, at least in the Western world since at least the end of the Middle Ages. As art historian Michael Baxandall insisted in his influential study of 15th-century painting, “money is very important in the history of art” and thus market forces should not be dismissed as frivolous. Only those unfamiliar with history or with the current art world can pretend to believe that art exists in a pure context of innocent delight untouched by the evils of capital. Rather, artistic production, circulation, and consumption takes place within a network of people together with large and small organizations that need to make money, like the artists themselves. Until the advent of NFTs, the market for digital art faced a major obstacle: since content online flows so freely, there was no scarcity and therefore, it had little (financial) value. NFTs shift this paradigm as it enables online artworks to become verifiably scarce and unique. To those still bothered, it’s worth reminding that artificially imposed scarcity is nothing new. Photography went through a similar process of having to prove its value as “serious art” even though it was so easily created and distributed if compared to earlier artform (not considering prints). Nowadays, photography is a respected artform, collected, researched, and exhibited by major museums, and its validity would not be questioned by any self-respecting art enthusiast. @beetlejuice
