C1 Newsletter April/May 2023 report

The C1 Guild has announced a new team of council members to lead the organization. The team includes Eric Asomugha, a journalist blockchain and artificial intelligence enthusiast who believes in spreading the gospel of distributed digital technology across all levels of education. Asomugha is a certified blockchain enterprise professional and an in-house member of Blockchain Nigeria User Group (BNUG), one of the largest blockchain groups in Nigeria.

The C1 Guild publishes a monthly newsletter focused on NFT and related disciplines, disseminating information to create awareness, support and breeding artists, as well as building bridges for all in the blockchain ecosystem. The newsletter features events and updates from the C1 Guild and other guilds, as well as upcoming NFT drops.

Asomugha is a strong believer in distributed ledger technology and the unstoppable role cryptocurrency will continue to play in society. He also acknowledges the role of NEAR blockchain and the introduction of Blockchain Operating System in the ecosystem. Asomugha is a team leader, journalist, and martial artist who tends to his farm when he is not thinking about blockchain or journalism.

The C1 Guild also features other council members, including Reespect, a community leader in Lagos for Web3 education, empowerment amongst women, and African identified artists and technologists. Reespect has played numerous roles in the web3 ecosystem, including as a resource person and mod at the first Graffiti Galore, a web3 experience event where NFT and blockchain were explained to participants.

Overall, the C1 Guild is committed to spreading news on innovations in NEAR blockchain and working to onboard more people. With a new team of council members, including Asomugha and Reespect, the C1 Guild is poised to continue its mission of creating awareness and support for artists and building bridges in the blockchain ecosystem.

The C1 Guild is also focused on creating opportunities for the underprivileged in the Web3 space. They have partnered with Shiny-gloves.club, a US-based NGO, to create opportunities for the underprivileged using NEAR web3 tools as a way to spread adoption and creative education. The guild is registered in the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria and has been partnering with creatives to prioritize their partnership with Shiny-gloves.club.

The C1 Guild has also been involved in NFT drops, featuring works of art from various artists. These drops include a custom gallery created by jcb.near, a rap and rhythm delivery about one’s mother, and a typical setting of a West African village at sunset. The guild has also sold out editions of the song “Baboon,” which describes the journey of leaving home to find one’s footing. Thirty percent of the proceeds from the sale of “Baboon” were given to charity, as giving back to the less privileged is part of the guild’s goal.

In addition to Eric Asomugha and Reespect, the C1 Guild’s council members include Mr. Royalty and Dedeukwu Igwe, who serves as a council advisor. The guild’s monthly newsletter, which focuses on NFT and related disciplines, is edited by Eric Asomugha and features updates on events and drops from the C1 Guild and other guilds.

Overall, the C1 Guild is committed to spreading awareness and support for artists and building bridges in the blockchain ecosystem. Through their partnerships and NFT drops, they are working to onboard more people and create opportunities for the underprivileged in the Web3 space.

That’s nice, thanks! Could you please provide details on the platforms or channels where the newsletter has been shared? Who was your target audience?

Previously, we utilised email marketing via Revue which was linked to our twitter account (find attached screenshot) so all our followers on Twitter can read it and the link was also shared across other social media platforms. Also, each issue was automatically emailed to all our subscribers once they are released. sadly, Reveu was shutdown by the current twitter management few months ago but luckily we compiled emails of most of our subscribers. When this current issue was published few weeks back we shared with our email list (existing subscribers. Please find attached screenshot) the next option was to post on social media but with the structure of social media tweets and posts, the marketing team decided that it wasn’t sustainable and decided to explore other means. The team will be meeting with the community on Sunday 7pm WAT to finalize on distribution channels. Our options are between Substack or medium. We intend to use one alongside email marketing, Near social and our social media pages as usual.

Our target audience has always been creatives/builders in the Web2/3 space, NGO’s, And blockchain/crypto enthusiasts.

Please note that this was why Newsletter wasn’t included in our current proposal since we are yet to finalize on a sustainable means of reaching more audience aside our existing readers.
