Blaze Monthly Report OCT '22 - FEB '23

Here is a high-level overview of items and deliverables for these past several months. It by no means comprises my comprehensive collaboration with the community to take the NDC from vision to execution. Hours worked 10-12 hours a day since NEARCON 5 days a week, Off Saturdays, and 3-5 hours on Sunday (53-65 hrs per week)

Additionally, travel to NEARCON, Zug, and ETH Denver. With additional travel planned to Consensus and NEARCON later this year.

OCT

  • Held meetings with GWG contributors, Champions and ecosystem leaders (28 meetings)

  • “What Decentralization means to NEAR” workshop based on community questions from initial Discord & Telegram channels.

  • Helped draft and review
    NEAR Foundation Ecosystem Update on Decentralizing Governance
    Ecosystem Update on Decentralizing Governance – NEAR Protocol

  • Assisted with drafting the initial draft of the NEAR Constitution and helped answer open questions.

  • Created the NDC Overview and diagram

  • Host weekly GWG Leads and Community Update Meetings along with presentations.

NOV

DEC

  • Host weekly GWG Leads and Community Update Meetings along with presentations.

  • Held meetings with GWG contributors, Champions and ecosystem leaders (34 meetings and 3 AMAs)

  • Interacted with NDC Champions and Contributors to facilitate onboarding to NDC

  • Created the NDC History page

  • Initial discussions with Coordinape about NEAR integration and use with the GWG

  • Gathered Q4 input on bounties. $250 per contributor minimum and 2K per month per lead as a base

  • Facilitated project management and Trello updates

  • CTA for all GWG leads to read the NEAR Constitution and NDC v1 Governance

  • Created the GWG Overview
    The wiki

  • Gathered NEAR educational tools to decide a platform for the NDC. DoDAO was selected

  • Onboarded new lead of Marketing for the GWG to assist with creative writing and graphic design

  • Onboarded INC4 as a new Champion of Tech WG after they volunteered in NEAR Founders channel

  • Drafted Funding Diagram for the ecosystem

  • Helped draft and review NDC Overview/EOY Review

JAN

FEB

  • Held meetings with GWG contributors, Champions and ecosystem leaders (58 meetings, 2 Workshops, ETH Denver)

  • Onboarded a new Project Manager to the GWG

  • Collaborated on Refactored NDC and GWG Descriptors to make them more streamlined

  • Realigned the GWG to begin the process of decentralizing and scaling through bounties, RFP’s and workgroups

  • Started working with the Creatives and Marketing DAO on Charters

  • Deprecated the GWG Leads server to move conversations to public workgroups

  • Onboarded new Champion to start the Distribution WG

  • Onboarded new Champion to start the Startup DAO WG

  • Onboarded a GWG contributor to Champion a Regional Communities WG based on the community pulse

  • Presented NDC at ETH Denver to the Ecosystem Roundtable

  • Met with 50+ community members to receive feedback on NDC (including the roundtable), gained greater support from ecosystem leaders

This does not encompass a comprehensive list of all items and deliverables, but it provides a high-level view.
