Project Timeline: December 5th – 30th

Objective: The main objective of this project is to build a NEAR Metaverse Prize for visual artists and musicians, and build events where the artists can exhibit their work and perform, and also learn a little bit more about NEAR protocol.

Justification (benefits): The relevance of this project is to keep the hype around NEAR protocol and to educate artists, collectors and devs about it, and to generate interest among new artists in participating in the prizes.

The project: There would be an event with musical performances from NEAR artists (NxM), visual artistic exhibition from NEAR artists and then a final educational clip which would enlighten all stakeholders within the NEAR ecosystem about the latest developments and what they need to know about current ongoings within the Ecosystem. The event would celebrate music and visual arts, and we would have a prize to musicians and to visual artists, that would work with a board of jury or popular voting on metaverse. The winners would be interviewed for historical record (at our historical mintbase store and in our magazine) and for future exhibition in the parcel for a new interview program of ours. All the artists participating in the contest should send a copy of their submitted work for the DAO’s account and/or should mint his/her work through our historical mintbase store. To build this event, we would need to pay 500 usd in near for best artists, 250 usd in near for the host, and the same for the interviewer and the educational video editor.

Timeline

December 5th:

Bounty in the forum to receive submissions to visual artists and musicians to the event.
Start curating the artists: music and video.

December 20th:

As the parcel must be built for the event to happen, we must book the event to December 20th. The event happens with voting and decision about the winners. Videos are recorded for historical reasons.

December 30th:

Onboarding anyone that arrives from the party on Mintbase with the resource that I already got by another project (this one: [APPROVED] To onboard tezos artists on Mintbase and NEAR blockchain - #44 by thephilosopher)

Project Report

NEAR Metaverse Prize and Educational Videos

Project Status: Completed

Project Accounting: NEAR Metaverse Prize was held at December 19th at Createbase Piers, Mintbase Cryptovoxels parcel. We had more than 100 people on the party, 3 DJs, 25 visual art contesters, 20 gambiarra artists. We had some issues with the videos, due to a Cryptovoxels failure, so we couldnt pass the educational video, which we put at the second floor of our NEAR Metaverse Connection Center. Instead of making a second educational video, John made an introduction video to our building. We could also make 2 interviews with the winners of the prize. We spent 1320 USD in NEAR, 70 usd more than we had foreseen (the reason here is that we had publicized the prize in NEAR, and not in USD, and NEAR variation made us pay more than what we had foreseen + Astro

Updated Project Timeline:
The event happened at December 19th, so the project was made on time, as foreseen. Onboarding didnt happen because I returned the resources to Mintbase DAO.

Highlights:
Final Products: 1 Metaverse Prize with 6 winners, 2 winners interviews, and 1 Educational Video and 1 introductory video, 1 exhibition, 3 sets of musical shows, 1 NFT in the historical store. 20 artists from Gambiarra store on Mintbase exhibiting works, 25 visual artists for the prize together with 10 music artists, more than 100 people in the event.

We did not onboard people, because we had already returned the resources to Mintbase DAO.

Learnings:
We could learn that 3 sets of 45 minutes is too much to make people stay in the party until the end. 2 sets is more than enough.

Next Steps:
Next steps are to keep building this prize next/every month, create a marketing strategy to call artists to come to metaverse and to call collectors to participate.
