Bountifying the DAO and DAOfying the bounties!
“With multi-signatures as a primitive for cooperatives, we have the basic blueprint for a revitalization of new mutualistic institutions in a peer-to-peer context, including mutual funds, mutual credit systems, and mutual insurance […] Since multi-signature accounts presuppose groups or identity collections as their primary unit, we have an interesting and as of yet underexplored form of composable identity in our hands.”
In the last 4 months, MotionDAO has matured to be an interdisciplinary international team of 12 artists researchers leading and instantiating global and local projects exploring the potential of the Near Protocol and the affordances of the blockchain for their practices. Sophisticated knowledge is been produced and futures had been envisioned.
This month will be focused on consolidating the DAO as a governance model and collaboration.
We aim to decentralize governance, decision making and distributing labor and finances in a way that supports the members’ contributions, cooperative values and it takes advantage of the DAO bounty functionality that ASTRO provides.
We are merging DAOs and cooperatives as models and strategies for governance and ownership redesign. Very important: We are supporting projects that have germinated during this process. We are closing this year creating futures.

Proposed actions to support these goals:

Three MotionDAO Labs: December 5th, 12th, 19th facilitated and oriented to design and deploy methods and ways of working coherent with DAO and platform cooperativism. Focus on community and our motivations to create bounty structure to distribute tasks related to funds and support the knowledge production process.

We will have bounties to support the DAO’s process, the specific members’ explorations and event initiatives. All events supported by these bounties will be open to all dance-tech.org and movimiento.org members participation.

MotionDao NFT Gallery Bounty: Victor Morales will create NFTs related to Motion DAO. and will be exhibited via MotionDAO Gallery on MintBase. They will have the subject of climate change, protesting through “foul yet not insulting language” as a form of rejecting any kind of harassment. It is always a good reminder for me to read Ruth Cathlow’s definition of the artist role in her book Artists Re:thinking the Blockchain:
“Artists are good in mediating abstractions for our perceptions through play, open exploration and supposition. They can tolerate eve relish, extended encounters with difference, contradiction, muddle and slippage between symbolic and material possibilities without rushing to usefulness or simplicity. They have a kitbag of methods and processes for revealing the practical affordances and animal spirit of a subject, medium or technology. They know that a way to get to know something that does’n yet exist is to collaborate with its possibilities and to do something/anything with it or about it.
