We did our first Open Call and received 17 entries!

We have also found a DJ for the after party - @masiaone

We have notified everyone and they are ready to get started. Because of some logistical issues, we will be having our opening party on October 3rd 2022. We are still deciding the best time for this to happen, as we are coordinating with people in Miami, Rio, Goa, Nigeria and Malaysia! This will definitely be a world-wide event. :smiley:

This month we are asking for 1/2 the funds to build our space in NearHub, as well as a rental fee for a parcel in Voxels. Both spaces will have a main stage, seating for 3-4 judges (although we won’t be judging this first event) and seating for the audience, stage lighting and maybe even some fancy blinking lights.
This is the quote we got from NearHub:

total 70 hours for full experience @ 100 per hours = 7,000

To cut costs would be to limit construction hours meaning less objects and little to no baking.

If needed we can break it up over a couple to a few months

We have started a twitter page, as well as an IG page and @near.insider have been promoting our open call. We are hoping to continue to work with them to promote the event itself.

We are all very excited to get this show going and can’t wait to be able to introduce more performers from within and outside the NEAR ecosystem.

Hey Guys!
Thanks for the proposal and helping bring more artists to web3!

I have a few questions for clarity

  • Can you please share a detailed expense report for last month, The one shared doesn’t show funds allocations properly.
  • In this month is there any funds allocated towards live artists?
  • From this month’s proposal it look like you guys are focusing on creating the space only. Can you please share how you are looking at the next few months and how this fits into the plan?

We have not received our funds yet. Those funds are going to the artists that have been chosen to perform when we get them.

The funds requested for this month are going towards the creation of a space in NearHub, rental for a space in Voxels and some SM help from @near.insider.

I think that creating the NearHub space will be the most costly. After next month when we ask for the second half for the funding for that space our costs will be greatly reduced and we will be asking for funding for artists judges and promotion. Our first event happens on October 3rd and is meant to be a sampling of the future of the DAO. After October we will be having bi-weekly events of performance competitions in the style of AGT
