Add a Community-Maintained Directory of NEAR Ecosystem Tools and Services

A regularly updated directory of wallets, dApps, explorers, bridges, and developer tools would make it easier for new users to discover trusted resources within the NEAR ecosystem.

There are already two amazing resources:

https://nearcatalog.xyz/ - mostly for apps discovery

GitHub - near/awesome-near: Curated list of resources: examples, libraries, projects · GitHub - mostly for dev tools and resources discovery

I agree that those are valuable resources. However discoverability is lacking if the question is still being asked.

Here I see Mintbase (defunct) being cited as an NFT marketplace as well as other inactive projects.

A community-maintained directory would be useful, particularly for people discovering NEAR through multichain applications. From a wallet team’s perspective, it can sometimes be difficult to determine which ecosystem directory is current and authoritative.

Perhaps entries could include a “last verified” date or maintainer, so users can distinguish actively maintained tools from inactive ones. Would wallets and infrastructure services both be included?

Ranking by UAWs would solve this.

However it would also expose how the foundation’s heavily promoted and subsidized projects are complete flops. There’s a natural conflict of interest.
