The project: The Podcast Poesia ao Pé do Ouvido was founded in February 2020, in the first confinement in Portugal during the Coronavirus pandemic. With the aim of spreading poetry to people, this podcast was born. There were 13 episodes in the first year, with texts by great authors such as Clarice Lispector, José Régio, Bukowski and Adília Lopes. Currently, the podcast has 63.3K plays on Spotify.
The author: Gabriela Abreu, 27, is another Brazilian living in Lisbon. Poet, with two published books “Meu Caderno Azul” (Scortecci, 2015) and “Uma Noite no Meio - Poemas que fiz de ontem para hoje” (Patuá, 2019), also participates in the anthology “Bicho Mudo Viro Bicho” (Poemacto, 2021). Idealizer, curator and host of the podcast “Poesia Na Ponta da Língua” and the “Sarau Delas” a biweekly meeting that brings together, since October 2020, everyone to enjoy the art made by women.
The proposal: To make the second season of the podcast viable. There will be 10 poems recorded, edited and posted by December 2021.
Funds needed: $300
$50 to pay for books to research the poems
$50 for equipment rental for the recording
$200 to fund the artist’s working hours
Timeline: From 11/18 to 12/01 - Curation of the Poems. From 01/12 to 11/12 recording and editing of episodes. From 11/12 to 18/12 post production and dissemination of the second season.
