Funding and Financials
We received a total of $5000 from the NDC for the month of February on Feb 5 2024.

Summary:
- $250 for each of the 6 guest lecturers of NCR course cohort 1
- $100 for each of the 7 final assignment NFT’s of students who completed cohort 1
- $333.33 for each of the 3 council members of the NRC
- $500 for lead facilitator & $250 each for 2 co-facilitators of the NCR course cohort 2
- $500 for marketing and giveaways
Progress and Milestones
Our objectives for the month of February were to:
- Find and hire a lead instructor for the second cohort.
- Issue certification NFTs for the first cohort.
- Ensure all preparations for the second cohort are completed and initiate the course towards the end of the month.
Completed:
- We have hired our lead instructor Chloe as well as 2 new co-facilitators, Nedlar Mlapa, and BGem .
- The first class of the second cohort was held on Feb 28th and was a success. We had 45+ people register for cohort 2 and 14 people show up to the first live class. (18 showed up to the second live class on March 6th)
In-Progress:
- We are still working on getting out the certification NFT’s out to the students who’ve completed cohort 1 of the NCR course.
Impact and Outcomes
Achievements:
- Co - facilitators trained and hired to assist with the set-up and running of NCR course
- 11 people onboarded to NEAR by our co-facilitators Nedlar, and BGem.
- Confirmed our first guest lecturer Dider for cohort 2 class 2 to teach Data Retrieval and Analysis.
- Created our new shard.dog registration NFT linked on our course page with over 50 people registered for cohort 2 of the NCR course
- Collected 7 student Final project NFT’s on the DAO from cohort 1.
- Created “alumni” and “facilitator” groups on the DAO
- alumni will be able to make funding requests for their research and facilitators will be able to make proposals to post on the DAO BOS page.
- Updated course page with links to the new syllabus and lesson plans, updated information etc.

- Events and Outreach:
- Held a pre-course twitter / X space, where we answered questions about the course from the community with 70 live listeners and 34 replays.
- Weekly Insights Forum every Friday at 3 PM UTC (10 AM EST) on telegram. Participants range from 5-10.
