WEB 3 COMMUNITY HANGOUT was a major project for JULY but due to late funding it will be carried over to the month of August. We intended to open a good number of NEAR wallets for new community creatives and members as NEW DAO, however event shall hold still hopefully in August

UPDATE ON EVENT (20TH AUGUST)
The purpose of hosting this event was to achieve the following goals:
- Sensitize Lagos Youths about the Web3 Space.
- Expose Lagos youths to the benefits of using the NEAR blockchain.
- Creation and Activation of Near wallets.
On the 20th of August 2022 we had our last event for the month of July, which was delayed due to late funding, we were supposed to have the event in July with an affiliated crew in collaboration so as to Onboard more new folks into the community but due to shift in Date It couldn’t happen as they were onto another project themselves on the DAY, however
It was quite positive in turn out. The event held at Cromwell Estate Phase 1, Lekki Lagos. A total of 31/32 people attended the event, of which, we onboarded over 25 new people into the DAO. We Started first by introducing SpiritYut and the NEAR blockchain which led to the discussion about web3 and the NFT Space. We then went on to give opportunities to a few people who had positive testimonials of their adventure in the NEAR blockchain, to share bits of their experience, how it began and how it is currently. This was followed by a Quiz session, where a few questions were asked and the winners were rewarded with The Daos Virtual Cards (charcoal). After this, we displayed for the audience the NFT arts we purchased from PARAS and Framed, We also called out few of the artist which had their art purchased by SpiritYut to come up and explain their art, its meaning and its inspiration. This session opened the eyes of attendees to various means of NFT creations. The event was then carried on by musical performance and freestyle, which was brought to an end with few games, competitions and dancing. At the end of the event a total of over 35 to 40 NEAR wallets were created, 17 of them were opened at the event while the rest were created and activated for those that were invited but couldn’t make it to the event and currently more wallets are being opened for new members coming in. NEARNAMES.COM is the process we used in opening NEAR WALLETS and these are the wallets opened prior to in preparations and during the cause of the event.

Metrics for success:
Overall, the event was a success, there were little technical issues that didnt stop the educational aspect of the event, we had total of 31/32 folks or more, opened over 40 Near wallets as regards the cause of event and have grown in number also.
We are also planning a metaverse event this weekend so that the NEAR community can come and experience the HANGOUT as videos were taken and edited after event for viewing purposes.
