Project Overview

NEAR Maps: Integrating Users into the NEAR Ecosystem Through an Innovative dApp and NFT Collection

Summary

NEAR Maps is a pioneering decentralized application (dApp) on the Blockchain Operating System (BOS), coupled with an NFT collection. It aims to guide newcomers in navigating the NEAR ecosystem and to draw the SolMaps/Bitmaps audience towards exploring applications on NEAR. This project is inspired by the success of similar initiatives in other blockchain networks.

NEAR Maps features a digital map divided into 100 distinct zones, each representing a different project within the ecosystem. Every zone is further segmented into 100 parts, available for acquisition at a standard price of 0.125 NEAR.

Key Features and Advantages

For Projects:

  • Royalty Allocation: All resale royalties from NFTs will be directed to the DAOs of partner projects.
  • User Engagement: Access to pre-sales requires utilization of the projects, thereby incentivizing new users to delve into the NEAR Ecosystem.

Current Status of the Project

  • Development Progress: Completion of 80% of the smart contract and BOS application development.
  • Partnerships: Collaboration with 11 NEAR projects, including HERE Wallet and Meteor Wallet.
  • Social Media Presence: 2400 followers on Twitter.

Team Composition

  • Denny: Focus on contract development and economic aspects.
  • MJ: Lead for marketing and promotional activities.
  • Oleg: Frontend development.

Previous Contributions

Our team has notably contributed to the development of WannaSpin and Pepe NFT collection. We have not previously received any grants from NEAR or associated DAOs.

Budget Requirements

  • Marketing Support: $2500 for mint launch promotions, including Telegram channel posts and engagements with NFT collectors.
  • Post-Launch Support: $5000 to support the value of the collection on the secondary market after the launch (optional, but will draw more attention to the project and the ecosystem)

Planned Milestones

  • Partner Announcements: By January 15.
  • BOS Application Launch: By January 25.
  • Mint Launch: February 1.

Expected Outcomes

  • At least 5000 NFTs minted.
  • Connection of 10,000 unique accounts to the BOS application.
  • A minimum of 1000 users trying out partner applications.

Future Development Goals

Post-successful NFT launch, we aim to:

  • Establish partnerships with wallet providers to categorize apps based on the ‘floor’ from the zone on NEAR Maps.
  • Develop a proprietary app explorer on NEAR.

Could you please ;

  • Give more details about team experience and also I would like to have more details about WannaSpin and Pepe NFT collections. What were these projects about, do they still exist, achieved KPIs, if you got any previous funding etc…
  • Write breakdown of marketing budget(2.5K) and KPIs related to that.?

I can not support post launch(5K) at this stage as we target to have milestone based funding.

The milestone of the work don’t end with the launch of the collection. Most of the work is related to promoting it to get a large reach and attention of NFT collectors from other chains. The 5k grant is aimed at this purpose, it will be spent on prizes for early NFT owners to draw attention to the collection.

WannaSpin was a gaming roulette on the NEAR (@ wanna_spin on twitter). The game ran on top of smart contact with random_seed() and allowed users to play the familiar roulette game with a transparent randomization protocol. As far as I know the game has not been actively launched but we have been involved in the development of the game contract as a third party contractor.

  • Which NFT projects do you look if you allocate land and how would they allocate? What are custom conditions for presale?
  • What does land look like? Do you have examples of art? - Also link prior marketing links like LNC etc.
  • What does the application look like and utility of the of the NFT? Would like more clarity on
  • How does bos related to the maps? Are you using map box?
  • After map is developed on BOS please outline roadmap
  • Need a clear breakdown of ask
  • Based on timeline looks like you will be launching

Hi @denny, in this first round of NFT DAO funding, we are pleased to offer support by contributing 50% of the marketing fund. We are committed contributors to NFT DAO and will outline what NEAR Map needs in terms of collaboration with existing projects in NEAR and the go-to-market (GTM) strategy.

For post-launch support, our decision will depend on the first-round performance up until mint. Additionally, please provide answers to @plugrel’s questions

50% = $1250 for marketing fund.
