[Closed] USERS ONBOARDING - BOOK FAIR - BRAZIL - OCT/NOv

Funding scheme: One-time

Hello @marketingdao-council

Introduction

The Porto Alegre Book Fair, Latin America’s largest literary event, has been a consistent annual tradition since 1955, and it’s now preparing for its 69th edition in 2023. It’s renowned for its democratic approach and its dedication to promoting literacy and fostering reading enthusiasts. Moreover, the event’s cultural program is entirely free to attend.

In the previous year, the Fair attracted approximately 1.3 million visitors, showcasing its significance and popularity.

For 2023, the Fair is scheduled to run from October 27th to November 15th, spanning from 10 am to 8 pm daily. It offers a diverse program suitable for all audiences. The event features numerous writers, illustrators, storytellers, and other professionals. Activities include autograph sessions, panel discussions, workshops, lectures, and artistic presentations, among other engaging experiences.

We will have the presence of Nicolelis, a pioneer in research into brain-machine interface CM, a technology that allows brain dynamics to be captured on a computer. He founded and is director of the Center for Neuroengineering at Duke University, in the United States, and the Natal Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences. He is the author of the books “Far beyond our self”, “The relativistic brain: how it works and why it cannot be simulated by a Turing machine”, “Made in Macaíba” and “The true creator of everything”.

The Project

Our exciting plans for the Fair involve collaborating with the event organizer to introduce innovative elements:

NFT Treasure Hunt: We will create a QR Code Treasure Hunt at the event. We aim to establish digital wallets and distribute NFTs utilizing Sharddog. These NFTs will come with exciting prizes and gifts, adding an interactive and rewarding dimension to the Fair.

Physical Books Donation: As part of the gifts, we plan to donate books to people who create a wallet and claim our NFTs. Some books are already purchased and others will be donated by writers of the event. We also plan to gift people with digital books.

We look forward to making these innovative contributions to the Porto Alegre Book Fair, enhancing the event’s offerings and embracing the evolving landscape of literature and technology.

Note: We are not looking for support for an IRL event, but rather to onboard users using Near

An excellent opportunity to bring web3 and NEAR to a new group of people at this important event.

Thank you for your proposal.

Great initiative, but it looks more related to Devhub, especially with the release of their IRL program called “HACKBOX.” It will be great if you look into it here https://near.org/hackbox.near/widget/home

Unfortunately, won’t support

Hello Bakaka…

Thanks for answering and i’d like to lovely ask you to read again the proposal. Its not DevHub related. Its is Onboarding activation for web2, web1, web0 users.

We are talking to DevHub about other activities.

Hi @jcsta thanks for the proposal – I think this an interesting use case at an IRL event. I have a few questions and will also need to have answers to how the team will meet the current NDC KPIs for October.

  • What is the $1000 in NEAR requested going to be used for specifically? Can you explain how that breaks down among contributors, rewards, book purchases, etc.?
  • How do you plan to engage participants and invite them to open a wallet and claim the NFT? How will this be promoted to the audience?
  • Do the NFTs have utility or a use case after the event (note one of the KPIs is focused on continued engagement after the initial onboarding - very important)
  • Does the team or initiative have a BOS presence?

Can you also update the proposal to include how your project meets the current guidelines and KPIs? Pasting below for easy access to the info:

Please use the following metrics that will be used for tracking individual initiatives’ performance by Marketing (Eco) DAO. All the metrics must be attributable to the relevant project/initiative through on-chain activity and off-chain reporting, ensuring GDPR compliance and preserving privacy:

  1. Accounts retention after 1/2/4/8 weeks — the percentage of accounts who continue interacting on the chain over a given time period (higher is better)
  2. Account acquisition cost — budget divided by the number of accounts interacting through the funded initiative (lower is better)
  3. Median number of dApps used by P95 accounts retained for 1+ week (higher is better)
  4. Number of accounts retained for 1+ week using at least three dApps (higher is better)
  5. Social engagement score — some compound metric of the number of posts, likes, and followers/views in social media produced by the users.

Let’s take this example: Why should Marketing (Eco) DAO fund Project X?

  1. Project X should have a clear goal and target audience
  2. Project X should bring improvements to several metrics listed above

Thank you!

Hi @so608
Yes… It is a good opportunity to work with people that dont know anything about web3.

Thank you for your questions.

Answers:

What specifically will the requested $1,000 in NEAR be used for? Can you explain how this breaks down between contributors, rewards, book purchases, etc.?

The amount will be divided between the cost of my trip to the city of Porto Alegre and food = $200
Printing of QR Codes and Information Plate = $50
Books = $50
Gifts = $50
Telegram Prize = $50
2 weekends helping and answering questions (2 people) = $600

How do you plan to engage participants and invite them to open a wallet and claim the NFT? How will this be promoted to the public?

We will have a space at the Fair Information Desk for this. In addition, we will train someone to help with questions about the Hunt and we will assist with technical queries too.

Do NFTs have utility or a use case after the event (note that one of the KPIs is focused on continued engagement after initial onboarding - very important)

Let’s create a page to get these people’s email addresses before they create their wallets, so then we can engage with them in the future.
We will also ask people to join our Near Brasil telegram group to compete in the $50 prize.
With people there, we will show the various weekly activities we have (quiz, giveaways, NFT contest, Winning user) and to participate, they must have IAH verification. We hope to increase the number of transactions on the network as well.

Fair NFT holders can receive future airdrops.
The Fair may use this as marketing for its Innovation. Furthermore, we are already planning to do something much bigger for the 70th Fair next year.

Does the team or initiative have a BOS presence?
Not for this case.

Here I answer the last questions. Please take a look about our question at the end, before we update the proposal:

Account retention after 1/2/4/8 weeks — the percentage of accounts that continue to interact on the network over a given period of time (higher is better)
1% at the end of 8 weeks.

Account acquisition cost — budget divided by the number of accounts interacting through the funded initiative (lower is better)
$1000/100 new accounts. Perhaps much more, but we cannot confirm, as the onboarding process is not simple.

Average number of dApps used by P95 accounts retained for more than 1 week (higher is better)
<1% (difficulty sending people who have never heard of web3 to a Telegram channel, which most do not have, to interact with content they do not know)

Number of accounts held for more than 1 week using at least three dApps (higher is better)
<1% (difficulty sending people who have never heard of web3 to a Telegram channel, which most do not have, to interact with content they do not know)

Social engagement score – some metric made up of the number of social media posts, likes, and followers/views produced by users.
Increase in followers on Instagram, as it is the most used social network.

Note: All the metrics I put above are conservative because:
1- I don’t want to promise more than can be done.
2- These are new rules.
3- Everything will be done at the last minute, as this is only now being dealt with. The Fair starts Friday 10/27 and we will no longer be at the launch.
4- The work also involves finding an artist to create the images, creating all the links with Shard dog, which takes a few days, printing and installing.

Why should the Marketing (Eco) DAO fund this Project?
It’s a good opportunity to onboard users who are unfamiliar with web3. We know the challenges of this and the Treasure Hunt is a good idea.

We don’t like to do anything without good planning. In this case we have not so much time.
If MDAO wants to support, we will be happy to do so. But let’s not make big promises just to be approved now.
What do you think we shoud do?

Thank you! I think is more related to DevHub.

Sorry, I cannot understand how. Could you help me on that?

Yes, sure. DM please
