About LiNEAR Protocol

LiNEAR Protocol is the largest DeFi protocol and liquid staking solution built on NEAR (currently with a TVL of over $17 million). LiNEAR unlocks liquidity of the staked NEAR by creating a staking derivative to be engaged with various DeFi protocols on NEAR and Aurora, while also enjoying ~9% APY staking rewards.

Objective

Liquid staking is crucial in attracting users and creating awareness about NEAR’s benefits. As more users stake their tokens and actively participate in the network, it attracts additional users and developers, increasing NEAR adoption, liquidity, and overall ecosystem development.

As the largest DeFi Protocol and liquid staking solution on NEAR, and in the light of CoA’s latest Vision Key Metrics, we hope to receive funding from MDao to onboard more users onto LiNEAR (and NEAR), boost user engagement and participation.

Deliverables

  • Stake and Earn Program: Organize reward programs to incentivize users to participate in liquid staking. This can attract new users and encourage existing ones to continue using your platform.

  • Community Building and Social Media Engagement : Share regular updates about project milestones, partnerships, and events. Engage with the community, respond to questions, and encourage discussions around liquid staking. We will also onboard our users to NEAR social, however, since the engagement on NEAR Social is rather low, it will take longer time for our users to transit to a new community platform.

  • Educational AMA and Webinars: Conduct AMA and webinar events to educate users about the benefits and mechanics of liquid staking. Invite NEAR experts to speak and answer questions to enhance credibility and trust.

Metrics of Evaluation

  1. Accounts Retention: Retain 80% of our onboarded users after 4 weeks, maintaining interaction on the chain.
  2. Account Acquisition Cost: We aim to have a 5% growth of users each month (250-300 new users). Target to keep the acquisition cost within 2-5 USD per account through our initiatives.
  3. dApps Engagement: We are committed to ensure that at least 80% of accounts retained for over 1 week are engaging with more than one dApp in the NEAR ecosystem. Users who stake on LiNEAR can utilize their LiNEAR tokens in other DeFi platforms to boost dApps engagement.
  4. Social Engagement Score: Through our various channels, target an overall 20% increase in the number of posts, likes, followers/views in the coming month.

Hey, didn’t know that Linear is still active :slightly_smiling_face:

Based on dappradar there are mostly no active users https://dappradar.com/dapp/linear-protocol
(About 30 UAW per week, and actually never had more)

So $4000 sounds very expensive for the results.

Also it would be nice to disclose how much grants Linear got so far from NEAR ecosystem related entities and why Linear protocol now needs another grant.

Since Linear is already live since early 2022, I would think it’s a sustainable project?

Also consider there are at least two other solution for liquidity staking on NEAR.

Btw:
Your Twitter, Discord and TG metrics seems to be outdated/having mostly inactive accounts and is not really valid.

On all platforms there is mostly no social interaction which is barely possible if these numbers would be up to date/real.

Additionally a few questions in reviewing this proposal that I would like to understand:

  • Can you explain what the partnerships budget line item is intended for? Who is it funding and to do what?
  • What is the timeline for launching the campaign? How long do you expect it to take to get that implemented, if approved? And do you view this is as a permanent offering or a limited campaign?
  • Can you share details about the rewards program? Is there a roadmap or further information about how you’ll structure the incentives, etc.?
  • What is the purpose/focus of the AMAs you’re proposing?
