[Report] Reddit Ops March Report -> Funding for April

This month we saw an improvement on every single KPI we set. We have taken the comments from the last sub post to heart and have a list of new initiatives we are undertaking both alone and in conjunction with the mod team.

Top level

Subscribers:

  • 9097 subs as of April 8th - roughly 1000 increase from the previous report date of March 13th.
  • This is slower than last month but our new initiative with the mod team is designed to focus on sub growth explicitly.

Engagement KPIs

  • Increased our total shares by 47% - (20-38)
  • Increased total comments by 12% - (80-91)
  • Impressions on the sub increased by 6% (avg. 1.8k - 1.9k)

By the Numbers

Internal

Impressions: 44.2k - KPI MET

Notes:

These posts also speak to the comments on the last governance forum post. We are actively increasing the number of views, shares, and comments as we continue to focus more on individual post engagement.

External

Impressions: 144.8k — KPI MET

Notes: We have reached a level of engagement on external sub posts to begin changing our content. In addition to the google doc, we will meet with members around the NEAR ecosystem to create content around explicitly new and upcoming projects or announcements - as opposed to previously focusing on the portions of NEARs ecosystem that were

We experienced a significant increase in post removal, and had to repost/edit/change accounts many times this month. Subreddits are cracking down on posts that could be in any way construed to shill. We are addressing means of making our posts stay rather than reposting them with edits - we will post any amount of times per month necessary to meet our KPI.

Moving Forward - addressing comments/concerns:

Replying to satojandro’s comments from the February Report.

  1. We are now cross postinging every external post to reddit. We will also ensure that at least once a week we will feature the best performing twitter threads from our organic accounts. We are also integrating youtube videos into our content. We do our best at creating content to be shared, and attempt to distribute it accordingly. We are focusing on sharing the content they produce, and encourage a better dialogue between teams.
  2. We have changed the google doc to allow more specific content post requests. Once it is live we will post it in the comments here, in as many telegram chats as possible, and would ask that those on the DAO share it with their marketing connections as well to ensure that we are covering everything that actively wants to be promoted on reddit.

As for the note on reddit engagement as compared to other platforms - we believe that this is largely due to the design of platforms. Reddit is designed to have legitimate discussions/ questions answered under the replies of substantive posts while a majority of twitter replies are either tagging another person (sharing) or simple replies that simply indicate engagement in the same way as a KPI. That being said, we are focusing on mechanisms to increase engagement.

  1. We completely agree with this point. We have created a plan with the mod team to host sub takeovers, and plan to execute on it in April. We would like to also feature our spotlight series on the twitter page (suggested below). We would like to coordinate this for the end of April or beginning of May so that we can ensure the promoted content is best and most relevant. We would like to get as many NEAR related twitter accounts to engage with it as possible.
  2. An additional notion we feel could be addressed from a higher level in the marketing team is streamlining communication across groups. We do our best at communicating with groups across the NEAR ecosystem, and are benefitting from the Growth Leaders TG and trello, but could use some more formal teamwork across marketing teams.

New initiatives (in response to so608)

  • Ecosystem spotlight - At least one project per month covered in depth in a manner that provokes engagement (i.e. potentially incentivizing, probing questions, technical analysis that caters to core users). We will also cross post this on any sub collaborations we have with the mod team.

  • 2 additional external posts - As we continue to tweak our posting strategy and mechanisms of marketing communication with the rest of the NEAR team, we want to ensure that we are continuing to produce our content that proves engagement while also attempting to focus more intensely on projects that are undercovered by marketing teams

Thanks for addressing some of my concerns. Seems like these are being implemented in plans for next month, so will have to wait and see more details on this new initiatives.
