Hello Everybody,

Firstly, we wish to welcome you back to work after a little vreak, we do believe that the future holds something great for us all.
We also wish to acknowledge the MarketingDao effort in helping Reggaedao accomplished marketing missions.

Reggaedao would love to apply for a new funding for Social Media Management, Social Media Bounty and Content Creation in Patois.
Social Media Management.

This is one aspect of our DAO that we would love to focus more energy on because it requires attention for growth and spread. We have only been funded thrice under creatives and only once under marketing which is for the website.

Our focus will be on social media growth through paid advert and targeted promotions. The focus of this proposal will be to use Reggaedao social media platforms to evangelise the Near gospel to the carribean which has started already through the website creation and we wish for it to grow into a larger entity.

Method:
posts related to the ecosystem on the social media in patois three times a week
Administration and management of bounties for the month
Judging of Bounty winners through social media engagements.

How? They need to follow on social media pages and repost/retweet/share our posts/tweets/stories
Community moderation on telegram which involves onboarding participants of bounties on social media and creating of wallets for them.

Hosting of weekly twitter spaces in Patois. This is an attempt to increase awareness of Near foundation in the Caribbeans by inviting and encouraging people living there and also reggae loving people/patois speaking people to participate in the ecosystem activities.

We will be making use of Radio Presenters both in Nigeria and Cameroon as Hosts during these twitter spaces.
Weekly budget:
Graphics: 50usd
Host: 100usd
Total: 150usd x 8weeks = 1200usd
Social Media subtotal: 1200usd
B. Bounties
There will be social media Bounties with the aim of increasing followership and engagements.
The Bounties will be to
Like a post
Tweet/repost
Invite another friend to do the same
How?

Once a post is made, a user will like and retweet or repost(share) and invite another user to do the same.

The new user has to come to the telegram group and mention the user who invited him after he or she has followed our social media.
Each new user invited will earn 3usd.
Budget: 400usd
Bounties subtotal: 400usd x 2months= 800usd
C. Content Creation about the ecosystem in Patois

We will also encourage people to make contents about updates in the ecosystem in patois for the Caribbean populace.
Each content will be a minute in length and must be in video format.

Contents will be judged based on
Motif
Issues they address
Engagements on social media.
Budget 500usd
Each winner will get 10usd
Content Making Subtotal: 500usd x 2months = 1000usd

Metrics:
New Telegram members per month: 100
Twitter: 500 followers each month
Instagram: 1000 followers each month
Facebook: 1000 followers each month
100 New Wallets each month
Each aspect of our proposal is written, we and aimed at fulfilling specific purposes.
Bounties are regular incentives meant to keep everybody participating daily through social media posts, content making is to allow topics and issues to be created and explained to people in the Caribbeans while the twitter spaces will be one time event everyweek which will involve live Patois conversation and discussion with people of the Caribbeans.

Grand total: 3000usd

There is no metric in your previous report. Has anyone used your website? Share information about your team.You planned to create 100 wallets, has this goal been achieved? How many of these wallets are active?

Hello,
Thanks for your question. Yes, artistes and other people eager to learn about the Near Protocol especially the Patois apeaking people are making use of the website and thats the goal.

Recently we uploaded songs in Patois on the website and if you also go through the website you can see the link to wallet creation.

We were advised not to give money away for new users and wallet creation

“Hey guys – while giving away NEAR to encourage people to open wallets was a strategy many have used in the past, I don’t think it’s an effective way to get long-term users who are truly engaged.”

So instead we focused on creating contents that encouraged people to be a part of the ecosystem rather than just creating wallets that will not be used.

Most of our contents are in Patois and we are actually looking to create more contents in Patois for the Caribbean.

@bigm007 and @jahzonemusician are both council members at reggaedao.

Yes very relevant and yes our goals have been achieved.

  1. The website has been created and it has the features we set out to put in the first place.

  2. Videos about the ecosystem have been created using Patois and this is the implication
    i. More people especially from the Caribbeans can actually learn about the protocol in their language

  3. There is near wallet integration on the website. It means with a click, they’ll be directed to the wallet.near.org site

  4. Artistes have created profiles and uploaded their songs on the website.

Our focus is not just onboarding and creating wallets. We have actually created a community of Patois speaking people they can belong to.

The nature of bounties isn’t quite what I imagine when it comes to boosting engagement on a piece of content.
$3 for:

  • Like a post
  • Tweet/repost
  • Invite another friend to do the same

Is actually quite expensive if you’re going to be pushing this across a community of more than 133 ($400 / $3).

Unfortunately, the “mission” of your project is unclear, “evangelise the Near gospel to the carribean”.

I’m not able to support the project at this time.

Just to further clarify and answer your questions, kindly go through our explanations.

The nature of bounties is different in different contexts and we are actually making use of individuals to retweet and reshare contents.

Also, we are a community of more than 200 on Telegram and the 400usd is meant for people who are not already in our community.

What the bounty is all about:

  1. We make a post relating to the near protocol in Patois
  2. New users will retweet or reshare
  3. Invite their friends to do the same.

How do they claim bounty?

  1. New wallets will be created for them
  2. Bounty prizes will be sent there.

We understand that the market is not too good and expenses are being cut, rather than lose a proposal because of cost, we would appreciate if the MarketingDao could tell us how much is appropriate or affoedable for this task.

Also, “spreading the near gospel” is just a metaphor and it was not intended to cause confusion.

Other entities use English to carry out their tasks, somr use Portuguese or Spanish, some German or Chinese, which is used to target a particular culture of people and the same is set out to be achieved by reggaedao as we target the carribeans and other patois speaking populace.

We wish @Klint would reconsider and give a trial as we do our part in spreading NEAR to the patois speaking populace.

Also, we do believe that questions are asked about one aspect of our proposal, if you find the other activities ok, may we remove the unsatisfactory one and proceed with the satisfactory ones?

Hi @Jahzonemusician i have reviewed your proposal and like your enthusiasm for spreading the word on NEAR to your target audience.

Unfortunately i am unable to support at this time - in the current market conditions we have had to make some hard choices on which projects to allocate funding.
