[Closed] Q4 Marketing Budget for Nomen Market - The Wallet & Smart Contract Marketplace for NEAR

Nomen Market aims to be the leading name service on NEAR! We are already live on both mainnet and testnet, however we are yet to generate the kind of traction necessary to grow the project further.

Currently NEAR does not have an established name service, however this has become a common on many other large L1 projects, eg. ENS and unstoppable domains on Ethereum or Bonfida on Solana, hence we are here to kickstart Nomen Market on NEAR.

As we are also a smart contract Marketplace, we are working on a new feature, which will turn Nomen Market into a hub for NEAR developers, creating a ‘Fiverr’ style community where smart contracts can be written by freelance developers or teams in return for a bounty.

However being a new project, we require a marketing budget to onboard users and aid with Social Media and Brand awareness. We have constructed a project growth marketing strategy for which we are applying to fund. The funding is planned to be used over the following 3 months/90days.

We are applying for $5550 ( NEAR at roughly $2=2775N) in funding.

Below is breakdown of our strategy and the costs associated:

  1. Firstly we would like to discuss the elements of our Twitter strategy which we feel is the most important in the current web3 space for establishing a project. The aim is to grow our twitter account/ presence, provide value to followers and the community and expand NEAR’s presence while doing so.
  • Paid Twitter ads strategy

We will use 3 campaign styles of ads

  1. Website engagement
  2. Reach
  3. Followers

The Ads will encourage users to trade wallet domains and consider selling the smart contracts associated with their projects on our marketplace. This strategy costs between $0.50-3.00 per acquisition in each campaign. We plan to allocate a daily maximum budget of $20 and test a single campaign at a time, cycling between them every Week , we may start with half the daily budget to test each approach and if they prove effective, increase to the max. [90Days x $25 = 2250]

  • Giveaway popular NFTs

Giving away popular NEAR and even SOL/ETH NFTs would be a good way to integrate with their communities, giveaway winners will have to list or buy a wallet from the Nomen Marketplace in order to be eligible, encouraging users to participate. We will pay floor price for NFTs such as ASAC/NEARNauts/NearCrash/Mara. These can cost between 20-60N Hence a budget of 120N ($360) would allow for 2-4 giveaways (1 expensive +2 cheap // or 2 expensive// 4 cheap).

We can also give away some of our partner projects NFTs, which are <5N and receive a portion of trading fees from our marketplace, this will help build hype based on the project’s utility, and allow us to build a strong Nomen community.

  • Giveaway Whitelist spots

Interact with projects and share WL spots with our communities (Free)

  • Wallet Airdrops via twitter

Additionally we will build our own community, by giving away premium wallet domains that we will create, alongside these we will giveaway 4N (so that winners can cover the costs required to list the wallet on our marketplace which is =4N). Participants will be incentivised to list as they could sell the wallet for a larger profit. Giving away 20 wallets +Listing fees = 20 4N=80N -$240*

  • Shout-outs / Announcements / Threads

Having our project recommended and analysed by prominent near figures could help appeal to their audiences and the wider near ecosystem. We aim to get this from leaders of projects such as ASAC / Tinker-union / Skellies, many of which we have good relationships with. Also from synergistic projects such as 3rd party wallets on NEAR, Meteor Wallet/MyNearWallet/Here Wallet/DojoFinance, again many of which we have relationships with. Lastly we could get exposure from announcement / news accounts in the ecosystem, however in the case we are invoiced for these shoutouts, our research suggest they typically cost between $300-500, a budget of $1000 would allow for 2-4 spotlight opportunities for our project.

  • Join Twitter spaces

In order to publicise our project, address questions and promote its use case, joining other’s public spaces should be free

2. Google Ads Strategy

We will target NEAR and competing Blockchains, as well as Web3 and crypto. Also Name/domain services. According to Google, a daily budget of $5 could generate 500-1000 visits to our website So $150 a month for 3 months = $450 +Currently google offer to match the first $400 spent with $400 in Ad credit.

3.Youtube Strategy

We would like to have a youtube video made analysing our project and highlighting the opportunities to trade wallet domains. Our discussion with NEAR Insider indicated this would likely cost >=$800 for a 10 minute video that would likely achieve between 2-5k views. This would be done towards the end of the 3months when our project is most established.

4.Blogs

As we write Medium articles on how our project works and its benefits and upcoming releases, the translation of these articles into other languages could help us span a larger audience, this would be a relatively cheap service costing between $5-10 for a 500 word article. We would begin by translating into chinese as this is the largest non-english speaking community on NEAR. 5 articles = $50

5.IRL

  • Event Attendance

Attending Crypto and web3 events and meetups to discuss and promote Nomen Market,
including side events at conferences such as token2049 which are free.

6. Graphics and visuals

  • Hire a graphic designer on Fiverr to design twitter posts / info graphics to go along with announcements - to add professionalism. Typically cost between $25-50 depending on quality. 10 graphics = $400

Goals / deliverables (for Q4 2022)

  • Implement the aforementioned strategy and meet the following Milestones:

  • 1k twitter followers

  • 400 Discord Members

  • 50 wallets listed on mainnet

  • 2 Twitter Spaces hosted on Nomen

  • 5k Twitter followers

  • 1.6k Discord Members

  • Integrate at least 5 third party NEAR wallets: Meteor/MyNearWallet/Here/NearFi/Dojo

  • have >200 wallets listen on Nomen Market

  • Sign SAFE agreement- equity for investment deal with prominent crypto VC / Investor

Conversion? How will this help NEAR?

  1. A meta of wallet trading will bring liquidity to the NEAR space - similar to the ENS BOOM! and provide functionality in the form of wallet trading, a feature not currently supported on NEAR. This will also encourage more people to create NEAR wallets and explore what the space has to offer.

  2. A community of developers = more builders = more projects = more impact on NEAR

  3. Use our marketing campaign to get some big names in the web3 space their own NEAR Domain, hopefully onboarding users from other chains

  4. Integrating with NEAR wallets to provide a wallet sell / name acquiring feature to their users

The budget allocated above aims to help us achieve funding by appealing to large investors so that we can take the project to the next level and work on new features including cross chain integration (Solana / Aurora). This would expand the services provided on NEAR and the creation of an established marketplace could capture liquidity from other ecosystems. So far we have 170 followers on twitter, using the methods described above, we will more than 10x this and therefore be able to help more NEAR users obtain wallet domains they may want and even purchase project smart contracts they are interested in.
