My name is Malik am an engineer/studio technician with one of the leading media companies in nigeria (TVC) fully known as television continental and i am also affiliated with two radio stations (jordan 105.5fm and city105.1 fm)

MY PLAN’S

My plans for the near ecosytem is to create at least 30minutes radio talk show about near and nfts on two major radio station and i would also be inviting my radio colleagues that would be helpful with their high traffic social media pages to connect with listener’s within lagos and ogun state Nigeria. The two radio presenter that would be working with me are

(1) Charles ideho [Jordan fm]
(2) melody hassan [city fm]

MY GOALS

(1) To expand the near ecosystems
(2) Gets lot of comments and engagement
(3) Get more near user who would not just have wallet buy to also transact with it
(4) Excellent positive response and increased interest from the audience about future project
(5) In conclusion i hope to be able to use this influence of mine to improve the near ecosystem and bring at least 126 near users

How are you measuring your impact?

And what are your KPIs?

Like you mention bringing “126 NEAR users”, why 126 and how are measuring that?

Yeah! thanks so much for this reply ,well as for how i wanna measure my impact,like i said earlier am bring on board my colleagues who have done so well for them self in the media space and who would help with thier privilege to bring more active near users,

My kpi measure is the media entity that i wanna make use of cause this would really be my first project and this entities are award winning broadcast entity

126 users like i did promise may definetly surpasses that number cause we are coming out big ones the proposal is been approved, there is a plan lied out underground already just a support from the council is what we crave for

In its current form, I can’t support this proposal.

  • Following recent review and in accordance to recent guidelines, we can no longer fund influencers (paying established radio hosts may fall under this category).
  • Part of the reasoning for this limitation is the challenge in ascertaining the quality of the content. While experts in their area, knowledge about NEAR is also a fundamental requirement.
  • This is why we much prefer to fund community members who produce their own content - let them capture and share their knowledge and passion about NEAR while we grow our own distribution channels.
  • Another interesting consideration is the nature of live content - are these radio shows recorded? Usually when we fund twitter spaces, YouTube, podcasts, etc. one important element is that the content is available for anyone to consume at a later date, significantly increasing the target audience (including members who will join the ecosystem int he future).

I note the proposal is low value and really appreciate the initiative, I’m open to discussing how we may find other ways in which you can contribute.

Thanks so much @satojandro, what about looking at it from other perspective, my social media isn’t strong enough that’s why i had to use the help of my colleagues in the media space though, thanks one again

Hi @Millyblack07 thanks for the proposal. I respect and understand the mission behind what you’re trying to do with this proposal, but, as @satojandro said, our current guidelines do not include funding to third party content creators and influencers. For that reason, I cannot support this.

I would recommend keeping an eye on the forum for bounties we are posting this year. They may offer an opportunity to receive funding for content creation around specific campaigns we are prioritizing.

I cannot support this proposal for the same reasons but I think the bounties route is good option for you.
