[APPROVED] NEAR Metaverse Magazine

Proponent: Metaverse DAO
NEAR account for payment: metaverse-dao.sputnik-dao.near
Project Timeline: December 5th – 30th

Objective: The main objective of this project is to build a NEAR Metaverse Magazine to showcase artists and metaverse events from NEAR.

Justification (benefits): The relevance of this project is because it us a way to systematize and to showcase near artists and metaverse events, with a historical perspective, building a periodical, that could store the relevant information for the future.

The project: To make NEAR Metaverse Magazine: a magazine focused on near artists and near events on metaverse, made in a site and in pdf, by screenshots and photos from events and artists and texts about them. If we have interviews (from our prize), we will also put them on the magazine. So we would build a mechanism with the DAOs and the forum to get artists and metaverse events to be featured in the magazine. The idea of this project is to build a monthly magazine for future research, stored in our connection center, to be built by another project.

Timeline

December 5th:

Bounty in the forum to receive submissions from visual artists and musicians to the magazine.
Start curating the artists: music and video.
Start writing the texts.

December 30th:

Launch the magazine, if possible with the interview from the prize winners, from another project.

Budget

500 usd in NEAR: Get the material for the magazine (with the DAOs and the artists) and build the magazine (site and pdf) with graphic design with images and texts (form and content): JohnX
250 usd in NEAR: Make a mechanism to select artists to exhibit in the magazine, make a grid of metaverse events among the DAOs, and make a telegram group from the DAOs with metaverse activity to obtain the information: JohnX

TOTAL: 750 USD in NEAR

Final Products: . Our products here would be the own online magazine in pdf format and within a site and the data base of near artists and metaverse events, and the magazines stored for future historical research on the blockchain.

Project Report

NEAR Metaverse Magazine

Project Status: Completed

Project Accounting: NEAR Metaverse Magazine was created by JohnX and diagrammed by Rafaela Nóbrega. The magazine #01 has 29 pages and talks about near presence on metaverse, with interviews, artists, NFTs, guild leader of the month, a grid of events, NEAR protocol and tokenomics. The magazine is hosted at this site and is minted as a PDF NFT at Mintbase here. We also created a telegram group and used John’s contact with artists to gather information. We spent 900 USD in DAI, that is 150 USD more than we have foreseen, because we needed a diagramming professional to make the magazine from the data collected and provided by John. This was not a problem for us, because we earned more resources by converting NEAR in the appropriate time + Astro

Updated Project Timeline:
The magazine and the grid of events are being created at December 28th, two days before what we have planed. So we on time.

Highlights:
Final Products: NEAR Metaverse Magazine created with 29 pages, talking about NEAR metaverse events, NEAR artists, with interviews with NEAR Metaverse Prize winners and with the guild leader of the month, tokenomics about NEAR token and grid of events. NEAR Metaverse Magazine published at a site and as NFT on Mintbase. We intend to produce, next month, 50 printed editions to give to the first buyers of the magazine NFT.

Learnings:
We could learn that we need more time between the interviews and the magazine being published, because sometimes we could have some problems with the artists that are not used to metaverse.

Next Steps:
Next step is to develop the sections of the magazine, and to include articles about NEAR Metaverses.
