Seems like a great way to get more structured NEAR educational content to be available to more people. Looking forward to the types of communities a program like this inspires.

@amgando We’ve had some slight changes since the time you spoke with them.
Would love to get your thoughts on this, and any questions or things you think we might need more clarity on.

It would be helpful to see this team build an application on NEAR — even if it’s a hackathon style/reference implementation type example. Hard to get value from these educational initiatives if the people who are the educators aren’t deep into the NEAR tech. (In their proposal they suggest that perhaps they can reach out with technical questions “if needed”).

Hi @waverlymaven ,
Think of these as program management companies and this 100 days of code as a program. They typically hire external trainers to teach people about NEAR and this is usually once we confirm the engagement with them.

We will have the trainers they hire go through the NCD program or even point them to Level 1 NCD folks to onboard as trainers(https://learnnear.club/near-certified-developers-level1/) so there’s a way for us to verify that people familiar with NEAR tech are onboarding these devs.

Awesome proposal, I would be so happy to see engagement from developers in India.
two questions:

  1. What are the success metrics? how would we follow up, are there milestone checkin points?
  2. What is the total proposal including the prize rewards?

Success metric would be:
mentoring 80 devs through the program and getting them to the demo days, at which there will be 30 projects building on NEAR.

From the proposal

Organizing cost[Excluding rewards for participants+grants]:
42500+18% tax = 50,150 USD (paid out in fiat)

Suggested rewards+grants for participants:
20,000 USD(paid out in NEAR)

Breakup of rewards

Suggested PR Budget if needed(addon)
5000 USD

Total:
50,150 USD in Fiat (mandatory) + 20,000 USD In tokens(mandatory, but amount can vary based on quality of projects) + 5000 USD in fiat (Optional- can be based on quality and plan of action)

Thanks @shreyas I agree that a good success metric could be apps developed on the NEAR protocol. Do you think that the trainers that would be assisting developers will have enough capabilities to guide developers to build on NEAR?
Also, I would love to see that new developers join the DevRel Guild as their start their NEAR journey.

Hopefully the level 1 NCD program helps us understand that better: NEAR Certified Developers Level1 - Learn NEAR

Makes sense. @jlwaugh can you work on plan for this? Happy to collaborate and help in whatever way I can.
