NEAR IRL

Introduction:

We are a large IRL community space, art gallery, and experiential retail activation located in the heart of San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood. Over the last two years, Local Maker Mart has featured over 100 local artists and been hosting weekly events at our physical gallery located at 580 Green Street. As big crypto enthusiasts we have expanded to become one of the first NFT galleries in SanFrancisco and now host many meetups, auctions and more. WE have set up our own DAO and our goals are to create abundance for artists, minting and collecting NFTs, and setting up customers with wallets so they can purchase NFTs.

We have refined our proposal and decided to focus on being a flagship IRL location for promoting the NEAR Ecosystem by onboarding users, accepting NEAR as a currency, and transforming our physical environment to promote NFTs, retail, and art sales using NEAR.

Will also be hosting a larger monthly community event on the Second Saturday of each month.

Our new proposal is to:

1. Create a flagship retail/art/NFT physical Location that accepts NEAR as a currency.

• GOAL: Signage and QR codes for NEAR payment and NEAR onboarding.
• MILESTONE: Shop is open and ready to accept near payments by Feb 1st. 2022 Complete

2. Pay our staff and artists in NEAR

• GOAL: Onboard staff with NEAR Wallets - Complete
• GOAL: Onboard current and new exhibiting artists with NEAR Wallets
• MILESTONE: Exhibiting artists on-boarded by first friday of every month

3. Host monthly events geared at growing the ecosystem.

• GOAL: Second Saturday NEAR gallery event with music, art & craft vendors: 50-100 people in attendance.
• MILESTONE: First event on Feb 12th, 2022.

4. Onboarding both artists and consumers. Our goal is to Grow with NEAR and promote their blockchain well into the future.

• GOAL: Onboard 50 new people with $30 in NEAR and free NFT from featured artists every month.
• GOAL: Monthly featured artist will mint one 50/50 NFT on PARAS to be given out with each new NEAR wallet
• MILESTONE: Featured artist debut on second Saturday event every month.

Hey Greg!

It’s great to see that you’ve taken the step to become involved with the Creatives community!

For anyone who doesn’t know, Local Maker Mart hosted Kin DAO for our in person NFT exhibition Hyphae in October 2021! So we are happy to see this community exploring the NEAR ecosystem deeper.

While we are happy to have you join us here, we would like to make you aware that this is a community consisting of many DAOs that (beginning this month) will be voting on all funding proposals. It would be great to begin building some relationships with the other DAOs/community members here to let everyone know who you are and begin building trust! Usually to begin, a simple introduction post can be made to make us aware of your vision and intentions as a DAO as well as introduce your DAO members before asking for funding.

Since we are already at the proposal stage, let’s backtrack a bit and learn a little more about your DAO! Some helpful information to provide would be:

• What is the official name of you DAO?
• Has your DAO been created on Astro DAO? If so, can you share the link with us?
• Who else is a part of this DAO? Creatives DAO does not fund individual projects, only Guilds or DAOs with a creative purpose can apply for creative projects.

As for the funding amount:

• Creatives DAO has a max amount of $5000 USD in NEAR for established DAOs
• For new DAOs the max is $2000 USD in NEAR for the first proposal to build trust with the community.
• If you are interested in a higher amount you should apply directly to NF (Guilds' Tiering System: An evolutionary Path for Community Development)

Because of the guidelines explained above, we ask that you please provide some more information about your DAO and adjust your finding request to a max of $2000. Keep in mind that council work should be no more than 30% of your overall budget. In this case, that would mean $600 would go to the management of the DAO.
