OWS July Party Survey Report

On the 29th of July, the second edition of the OWS Party was held. Afterwards, all participants have received an e-mail inviting them to fill in the short online survey where they could share their opinions on the event. In total, 23 people have filled in the survey. This report will give an overview of findings and takeaways from this survey that our team will make use of for the organisation of future events.

Let’s start with the positive points: the majority of participants have indicated that it was pretty clear for them what the purpose of this event was and that they have really enjoyed it.
The most frequently chosen motivations to participate in the event were ‘Find out more about current projects and guilds and stay on top of the things within the NEAR ecosystem’, followed by ‘Broaden your knowledge about the Rainbow bridge’ (RB developer was invited as the main speaker) and ‘To support the OWS team because they are simply awesome’ which speaks for itself :). Several participants mentioned that they wanted to better understand what OWS is all about which in our opinion we did not directly include in the party program. During the next event, we will make sure to include a swift introduction of the OWS to ensure the orientation for the participating newcomers.

Among the most appreciated aspects (listed in descending order of popularity) are the projects pitches, the general vibe of the hosts, the networking opportunities, the new Airmeet platform (which was used for the first time for an event of this kind) and the NFT rewards. The appreciation of the project pitches is especially satisfying, seeing as it matches the most popular motivation to join the event and one of the purposes to organize this event in the first place.
100% of the survey participants have indicated that they are planning to attend a similar event organized by our team in the future. The majority of them have also expressed their eagerness to recommend this event to friends/colleagues based on their general experience.

Now let’s glance at the improvement points indicated by the participants. The majority of the complaints was about the technical difficulties connected to the usage of the Airmeet platform. It’s a relatively new platform and not everyone knows their way around it which caused several delays for speakers to start presenting and such. Not all of it is in our hands of course but we will try to educate our speakers on how to use the platform before the beginning of the event to limit this issue as much as possible.

Another suggestion multiple participants have made is to allow more engagement from the side of regular participants and to include more time for speakers to answer the questions of the audience. This is something we are definitely going to take into consideration while planning our next event.
An additional suggestion we are going to implement in the future is creating a sort of a lineup to make sure it is more clear for the speakers when they are supposed to present and for the participants to know what to expect from the event as well.

Besides, multiple participants of the survey have expressed an interest in the topic of NFT. So maybe that will be the theme for our next party, who knows…

All in all, provided feedback is extremely valuable for our team as it equips us with important insights for further improvements. We would like to thank everyone who made time to fill in the survey and will reward this effort with 1 NEAR per participant.

Cheers,

Vasilya
