Hello Near Community!
We are Kin DAO, a DAO using web3 tools to bring equitable systems to the physical through collective land purchase and regenerative practice. We have been in the Near ecosystem since September 2021 and actively collaborating with Creatives DAO [in which @adrianseneca is a moderator for], Marketing DAO and DAO-cubator [in which @godofnfts is a DAO-structor in]. Since our founding in September 2021, we have self-funded a month long physical NFT exhibition in San Fransisco [October 2021], have curated 3 community centered virtual NFT galleries, and onboarded over 50 individuals and 5 DAOs from our extended community. We are a team of multidisciplinary artists, regenerative workers, and community organizers.
We just launched an extension project of Kin DAO to handle the immense call for onboarding from our community called Primordia DAO. Our intention is to onboard 100 DAOs to Near by the end of 2022. You can take a look at our full introduction here:
This March Kin DAO has been invited to attend and speak on 3 stages at SXSW in Austin, TX by our new marketing collaborator, Kwasi from FEEDIA. FEEDIA is a Marketing, Public Relations, Business Development, and Growth Agency specializing in consumer and business to business engagement. Their core areas of subject matter expertise are the technology, social impact, sports, international development, and media sectors. With 40 years of experience, FEEDIA has worked with brands such as Warner Music Group, Apple, Facebook, Sony Music, Google, and Microsoft. While typically we are not in alignment with these specific companies, we share them with you to show the professionalism FEEDIA is offering and note that they have agreed to uniquely curate a plan rooted in our values as we have been building trust with them over the past few months. They have offered to help us with market and metaverse strategy development and execution, public relations, content creation and publishing, research and market analysis along with placing us on 3+ stages at SXSW and assisting us in hosting an event. We have requested support from Marketing DAO to compensate FEEDIA:
Goals & Objective
Our goals for 2022 is to launch 100 DAOs on Near Protocol. Our direct and extended communities have the capacity of 12 million people meaningfully engaging on Near by December 2022. Our communities are historically disenfranchised, excluded humans globally that we would like to open access of an ethical blockchain like Near. We recognize the enormous value we bring to Near and are reaching out with the intention of procuring support from Near Foundation to attend and host a few events at SXSW.
In short our goals are:
- Speak / present on at least 3 stages at SXSW sharing about Kin DAO and Near Protocol
- Share our project & vision with SXSW
- Heighten awareness around Near as an ethical and legitimate protocol to use and invest in
- Foster support to onboard 100 DAOs to Near throughout 2022
- Build brand awareness
- Procure new collaborators and investors
- Move closer to our goals of collectively purchasing real land to develop equitable, communal, sustainable systems of living
Impact
SXSW is a large scale annual event for global professionals featuring music and comedy showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, professional development, and a variety of networking opportunities. This year the blockchain will be a huge topic and center of many events, setting the tone for DAO summer and 2022 as a whole. With the opportunity to present and host an event of our own, we believe the impact will:
- Heightened global awareness and support of Kin DAO & Near
- Show other marginalized communities that Near is an ethical protocol to engage and invest in
- Increase awareness of the possibilities and opportunities that Near provides
- Enforced understanding that Near is a legitimate protocol in the crypto world that should be adopted
- Widespread onboarding of event participants and new collaborators

Our goals of hosting a Kin DAO / Near Event at SXSW is the same as our participation, only our impact would be much greater. SXSW takes place at Austin Convention Center but has a multitude of off site events that take place throughout the week that focus on particular projects or themes. Feedia, is offering to assist us in hosting our own event either in tandem with an already active event or a fully focused event by Kin DAO/Near.
This is where the price range comes from. To participate and have our own section of a current event it would cost between $6000 - $10,000.
To host own own event it would be $10,000 - $20,000.
We understand this ia a big ask but believe it would bring a ton of attention and participation to Kin DAO and Near. We already have skilled event curators and installation artists on our Kin DAO team which makes us feel comfortable about the time crunch here. Our vision would be an afternoon tea event where we can beautifully decorate a space and onboard attendees onto Near as well as educate them about Kin DAO.

These totals are broken up into sections to clarify the layers of requests in this proposal and allow you to decipher which level of support feel appropriate to provide.

$11,622 USD - The first and most basic ask is Funding for Kin DAO to be Near Ambassadors at SXSW: this is absolutely needed for us to physically attend these events and represent Near. This feels fair since we would be making much effort to expand Near’s network, especially since we have heard of no other Near representatives that will make a presence at SXSW.

$6,000 - $10,000 USD - The next level of the ask is Funding a Kin DAO Sponsored Event: which would make hosting a small space within an already existing event possible to represent Kin DAO and Near more concretely.

$10,000-$20,000 - The final and most grand level of ask is Funding to host a Kin DAO/Near specific event at SXSW: which would give us the ability to curate an entire event that is solely focused on Kin DAO and Near onboarding and education. We understand this is a big ask but wanted to include it in the proposal to allow the Near community to decide if it feels important.

All of the funds used for booking thus far have been out of our own pockets in hopes that Near will see our dedication of take these personal risks and support us in our leap into 2022. Our only barrier to reaching our mutual goal of swiftly growing our communities meaningfully is a little immediate support at this time.
