NEAR AFRICA DAO PROPOSAL FOR APRIL Hello Community! The HOM vote approved the Africa DAO as seen on astra ++ and the [governance forum](http://gov.near.org/t/approved-by-hom-african-dao-into-ndc-v1-formation/38137/3). Special thanks to the HOM members for finding value in Africa. ## The Dragon is set to be unleashed in Africa. We at this moment present our budget for April for the entire DAO. Ten (10) proposals were received and due diligence was done on them. This is to help all communities within Africa have a ground to leverage on. They are: - Partner with about 3 Ecosystem products for effectiveness - Partner with about 2 web2 Products for better onboarding and retention - Onboard 3 Regional communities from other African Countries without NEAR outreach - Onboard between 200-500 users - Retain 80% of old and onboarded users. Concerning dApps, we did not approve projects in this first month because we wanted to see at least some level of MVPs built. 2. For the Hackathon, we are making plans however I would love to seek clarity. Will DevHub be the primary vertical to fund such activity or NDC can? 3. We will spread more awareness. Our team is already working on content with information about NDC and NEAR as a whole. Overall, thanks for the suggestions. ---

New dapps / founders should be one of the most crucial focuses. 2. Africa DAO can run such an NDC hackathon. You have experience. I don’t see any issues. 3. Thank you! We must share the funding NDC opportunities with all African communities / founders. **The House of Merit can also consider direct requests from individuals up to $75,000. Please feel free to use this option where needed.** ---

Don’t you think the OpEx is rather high for a GDAO? $4500 / $9300 = 48% ---

This is the first funding month and that’s why the total communities funded is that low. You can see the amount of proposals rejected and why. We shouldn’t judge it this way as it’s a marathon journey for the DAO. Look at the work to be done by the DAO councils from now till April ending. The next funding round isn’t going to be the same since new communities will emerge and old ones will pick form too. ---

So thinking about creating new projects on NEAR is a major priority for NEAR Ghana, hence we partnered with AyaHQ to run a mini Hackathon to create some projects in our community this April as our 1st month of establishment. We’ve plan to give major push to these projects and bring the whole ecosystem attention to them for support in the upcoming months. ---
